Song has its moments but ehhhh Idunno

yeah, a lot of people are hating on this, but i dig it. i never liked their old stuff, either.

there's a good whole 2 minutes without any chugging. they've progressed.

Would have liked it more if they went back into the riff after the clean section, THEN into the breakdown.

That was pretty good, can't wait to hear the rest. I think The Common Man's Collapse will still be my favorite though, but maybe that's just because I've heard that album like over 9000 times

They sound better than ever here, I'm looking forward to this release.

Not bad, not that good either.. Never heard a song by them and i'm not about to do so after hearing this..

Especially since everyone complains about the low amount of breakdowns (WTF??), which makes me think their older songs are filled with them.

Never liked this band at all cause the vocals always sucked immensely. This sounds pretty decent. I'll probably give the full album a listen.

i feel like they did the breakdown at the end because they pretty much had to. every veil of maya song that's ever been written has been "chug chug chug" and while it's a huge step in the right direction at how lacking the chug part is in this song besides the end, they can't really just drop the whole sound that got them to where they are. either that or sumerian was like "what the fuck bro, no breakdown?"

either way, i think it's really solid and i'm looking forward to this album.

I like how they brought back the riffing, because [id] was basically like "hey look how many weird chords we can chug on!" This sounds a lot more like something from The Common Man's Collapse, and I love that album. Pretty excited for this new album now, I was almost sure that they were going to continue down the path of mediocrity.

that's what it was i promise. sumerian is kind of notorious for that. my friend's band signed a contract to sumerian and they ended up having to get out of the contract to release the album they wanted to because ash told them it needed more breakdowns to be marketable.
