Eh, it wont be my favorite track from the album. Lyrics aren't really working for me. However, instrumentally, it's pretty indicative I'll be happy with the album.

YEAH BRO NU METAL'S BACK!!!!1111111
This is bad.
|
| |
I sincerely hope you're a new member who fades off...
|
| |
Baaaaawwww, Am I disliking what you like?
How dare I?
|
| |
Hopefully they released this one due to a more "radio friendly" sound over all. But I still like it.
|
| |
It's got "desperate grab for mainstream success" written all over it.
|
| |
haven't listened to these guys in the longest time...
and my life's been just fine without them
|
| |
Wow, that was shit.
|
| |
Nothing these guys do will touch Start Something
|
| |
Nothing these guys do will touch Start Something
The Betrayed
wtf is he trying to rap?
|
| |
I thought that, spoken word rap.
|
| |
This band has strayed too far from the path now
|
| |
This is pretty good, but he overdoes the lack of melody in the verses. I get what they're going for, but it's just too much.
|
| |
Dig it.
The rapping was an interesting twist haha
|
| |
No, BonRurgundy, feel free to do that... I just don't like the way in which you do it. All I've seen from you is negativity. I just don't have a good first impression.
|
| |
Band sucks
|
| |
Nothing these guys do will touch Start Something [2]
It's irrelevant really, but their profile picture on Facebook is incredibly deterring.
|
| |
Didn't actually think it was them at first.
And yeah... this sucks.
|
| |
These guys were my favorite band throughout middle school, I was just WAITING for that The Betrayed album, mayne. Anyway, Start Something is still fantastic. I don't want to listen to this and kill my opinion of them.
|
| |
Oh Jesus is Ian still trying to pull off the "scene" look? That shit was sexy a few years ago but now it's just, "...really?" The dude's probably going to be thirty soon if he already isn't.
and that "rap-rock" thing is disgusting. The only time I've ever seen that work decently well is with RATM and certain nu-metal songs (Deftones, early early Limp Bizkit, SOME Linkin Park) but this is just gross and trying to jump some bandwagon.
OH, and when Trae sampled Electric Wizard that was being on some trill shit #real talk
|
| |
This doesn't really sound like the LP I used to listen to. It's not fucking terrible, I wouldn't be dissapointed if this started playing on the radio over a lot of whats playing now.
|
| |
Verses are shit but the chorus is probably one of the best they've written since start something.
|
| |
I remember their first CD was actually pretty good. Had pretty good musicianship. This definitely has the mainstream click to it. Not bad though.
|
| |
he's gotten a lot better at rapping. go listen to their first demo cd on youtube. it was sad.
|
| |
I did and I don't know what you're talking about, this is music at its finest http://youtu.be/8dEfg8m58e4
|
| |
....I had never heard that before. Wow. Just.... wow.
|
| |
I've heard worse...
|
| |
Ian Watkins > Nas
|
| |
I mean I'm not so sure of that...
|
| |
"This is pretty good, but he overdoes the lack of melody in the verses. I get what they're going for, but it's just too much."
Well said Adam. In fact, is it even Ian singing the verses?
|
| |
a bit like him from their first record personally. When they sounded a lot like Faith No More. As far as a reference point Davey; I think it is definitely Ian.
|
| |
Yeah, good point yeti. Although, because that was their debut, it was cool. Because this is now, it will be seen as lame. ;-)
|
| |
Oh of course. What are we, rational?
|
| |
no thanks ill go back to that new track from the used
|
| |
that was amazing amounts of terrible.
|
| |
This is the nu metal version of DMX's Who we be. Shit.
|
| |
This song, weird as it might sound, almost makes me think they've sorted out the crossed wires that made me less-than-impressed by their last record. I'm looking forward to... holy fuck, April 2?! Fuck that.
|
| |
Just to confirm, Jamie (on his twitter) has stated that this is NOT the lead single from the album, just a teaser.
|
| |
Thank goodness.
|
| |
Thank goodness. [2]
|
| |
please don't hurt me for saying this, but the guitar intro sounds like it could be from empty days and sleepless nights....
|
| |
way too overproduced to be
|
| |
It's got "desperate grab for mainstream success" written all over it.
And their other albums didn't?
|
| |
Meh i'll be happy if there's at least 1 song on the album that's as good as 'It’s Not the End of the World But I Can See it from Here'
|
| |
That was one of the weakest tracks on their last album
|
| |
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
yea
|
| |
yeh
|
| |
but it was catchy
and I liked the video
|
| |
the rest of the album was even more catchy
|
| |
wtf is a lostprophets
|
| |
It's got "desperate grab for mainstream success" written all over it.
And their other albums didn't?
This is stupid. Lostprophets are pretty fucking well-known.
|
| |
That's my point. I like Lostprophets but let's be honest, they've never shied away from writing a radio-friendly catchy hook
|
| |
I'm going to reiterate something; nothing this band has done, or will do, will ever touch start something. Album is glorious.
Also, what is all of this rap-rock nonsense you guys are talking about, ya'll act like you forgot about Durst.
MOVE IN NOW MOVE OUT HANDS UP NOW HANDS DOWN BACK UP BACK UP TELL ME WHATCHO GONNA DO NOW.
I believe this is actually how he wrote the lyrics down himself so cut me some slack.
|
| |
I actually liked the intro and thought they might be getting better and then the rapping came in. Song was so bad
|
| |
dont mind the song, but there is too much rapping in it, i just dont think it really suits. i like the song and like the band. looking forward to the album.
|
| |
We need to come up with another word, as I'm unsure I'd call that "rapping".
|
| |
