Vocals were well-done, didn't care too terribly much for the rest of it. Wasn't bad by any means, just didn't really impress me. We'll see.

|

Jesus fucking h god damned son of a whore christ.
that breakdown literally chills the bones kids. Simplistic enough but where it is in the song really kicks the point home.
|
| |
Song fucking rules, maybe I should listen to ETID more
|
| |
Man, that song ruled hard. The video is pretty fucked up but truthful to the core.
|
| |
that breakdown literally chills the bones kids. Simplistic enough but where it is in the song really kicks the point home. [2]
|
| |
Song rules so hard! I expect a AOTY candidate here. Oh ya I popped a boner so fast!

That music video blew my mind. Some stuff in there was so insane and creepy. I literally yelled when the guy got his head
cut off.
|

I was just scuba diving near those underwater statues off the coast of isla mujeres in Mexico.

ETID never disappoint. Awesome song, awesome video, now I just have to freeze myself and tell them to thaw me out on march 6th.

I dunno if more excited for the new ETID album or the fact that there won't be another Damned Things album
|

except there will be another damned things album
|
| |
“In order to write lyrics I had to pay attention to the defeatism that the music suggested. To compile this video I had to acknowledge the masochism I wrote of to myself. You don’t get rewarded for your faith and you don’t get celebrated for your heroism. Just when you find yourself attached, you have lost it. Everything is borrowed. C’est la vie.”
|
| |
@silentpotato
Whilst I would normally agree with you about most bands, I think ETID have progressed. Their lyrics and riffs are consistently great, they've never been this intense and unlike other bands, their brand of hardcore is unique and interesting.
|
| |
Keith is one of the better lyricists in metalcore.
|
| |
oh noes, people think things are cool but i only think they are kinda cool. DESTROY EVERYTHING (*cues hatebreed)
|
| |
...The hell? THIS is the band that gets so much praise on here all the time? Wow, I didn't like that at all. Nothing very unique about it.
|
| |
oh noes, people think things are cool but i only think they are kinda cool. DESTROY EVERYTHING (*cues hatebreed)
...and then potato gets so shamelessly owned
|
| |
song was cool, video was mildly disturbing
|
| |
Great song, disturbing and great video.
Yeah, it's nothing new but that doesn't mean it isn't awesome.
|
| |
decent song, its just at this point they've been around so long and have had pretty much the same sound..not sure how much i'll be into the new album
|
| |
i think its actually better because it sounds like less of a departure than their previous two albums (although, to be fair, NJA was less of a departure than TBD)
idk people are stupid (myself included)... we can call it a departure or a regression or a progression... its a fucking metalcore band shut the fuck up and just enjoy the best, smartest, angriest music there is without saying something smug and faggoty about how it fits into the world's greater musical narrative
|
| |
The hell potato?? Have you heard their whole discography? They have changed their sound like 3 times.
Also saying they are safe let alone the safest band in the database is not really a argument. '' Oh no this album is just as good as the last album!!'' That makes no sense.
|
| |
yeah i think weve beaten him into the ground on that stupidity safe to say he regrets it let's get back to how slick this track is
|
| |
"thats why they are safe, their lyrics and riffs have always been consistently great."
What?
|
| |
Have you seen the track list?
http://www.alterthepress.com/2012/01/every-time-i-die-release-new-album-ex.html
|
| |
two songs @ 1:49
:DDDDD
|
| |
sooo gooood, extremely pumped for this release
|
| |
Loved the song, and the video, and lol@people actually finding the video disturbing. Go watch the Last Great Disgrace if you want to watch something truly disturbing.
|
| |
Awesome song. Fucking stoked.
|
| |
I cannot wait for this album. March 6th is going to be a great day!
|
| |
decent song, its just at this point they've been around so long and have had pretty much the same sound..not sure how much i'll be into the new album
I'm pretty much was in this boat until the last 40 seconds of the song. That guitar tone was nasty near the end but the intro to this song honestly left me gagging. The lyrics seemed to have regressed IMO which is one of the strongest differentiators of this band in the genre.
|
| |
oh my gawd i fucking love this. AOTYAOTYAOTY
|
| |
will listen in a few.
@potato stop saying silly shit bro
|
| |
Potato there isn't any explanation. It happens all the time with different bands. People complain because a band changed their sound, sold out, sounded the same, recycled stuff, copied someone else, progressed, regressed, got better, got worse. Its all opinion; there is no rhyme or reason.
Now as for ETID, that ruled and while I can agree with you by saying they have always kept that something about them, that thing that when you hear their songs you know its them, I totally disagree about them never changing. Some of their older stuff I HATE and can't make it through some old albums but I loved the hell out of NJA.
|
| |
I didn't like Hot Damn! until I heard New Junk Aesthetic, and I couldn't get with Gutter Phenomenon until I started loving Hot Damn!
I don't know what it'll take to make me get into The Big Dirty, tho
Anyway, I think each of their albums sound very different from one another, and I feel that it's ludicrous to say they "haven't changed" (or grown or progressed or [some verb + 'ed'])
|
| |
The Big Dirty is my fav album of there's, probably alone on that one =P
|
| |
I think I need to give it a few more listens. I like hearing Dallas Green on it.
|
| |
Im so glad I havent been disappointed, which is mostly the point with teasers like this anywho
|
| |
Solid.
|
| |
Their sound in Hot Damn! and Last Night In Town was much more raw and less ballsy. It's with Gutter Phenomenon that
they began progressing to a more southern metalcore sound. The Big Dirty had a couple of tracks where they really
focused on melody and catchy hooks, and New Junk Aesthetic was a slow regression back to the sound of Gutter
Phenomenon but fuller and heavier. Based off this song, I think Ex-Lives is going to sound like a cross between NJA and
GP but heavier and much more straightforward. So yeah, they have changed their sound quite considerably several times.
You'd have to be a fool to not realise it.
