The Beach Boys reunite

'60s pop legends, The Beach Boys, announced through their official website their reunion for a new album and a 50-year anniversary tour in 2012.

The band has recorded a handful of new songs, set for release by Capitol Records. Touring activities will commence in April 27 with a headline appearance at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. More tour dates are to be revealed with a new announcement.

I love the Beach Boys so on one hand this is great news, and I'd definitely go if they came near me.

I'd agree in the sense that Smile is definitely not for everyone, it's more like moments of utter brilliance with amazing pop songs in between as opposed to the tour-de-force of inspiration on Pet Sounds.

But really, Surf's Up is probably the finest pop song ever made
