Megadeth Post New Song

2006-11-23 by DeafForever | 14 Comments
Infamous thrashers Megadeth have posted "Gears of War" from their upcoming album "United Abominations".

The track is available for download at their website, www.megadeth.com.

Note that it lists the song as a "Demo Version", but it's really a full version.

The album is now expected to be released in March 2007.

The cover art can also be found at this location: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:United_Abominations.jpg, which depicts the UN building being attacked.

Dear Grant,

You have brought much joy to my heart.

Love, Mike

I'll have to listen to it a few more times before I properly judge the song as a whole, but its not too bad. Love the solo though. This Message Edited On 11.23.06

I really like the song, especially the chorus where he shouts out "Smart bombs, precision guided armament, a more sophisticated way to end up dead", which is accompanied by that sick (yet simple) riff. This Message Edited On 11.23.06

Man, I hate songs that take forever to fade out. Good song though.

this is fucking ace!!! one of the best mid-paced thrash songs in recent memory, and one of megadeth's best; pretty much combines their earlier tech-thrash with their 90s commercial sound perfectly. i was excited about the new album anyway, but now even more so!!!

dave's vocals have improved too. its all good!!!

I'm gonna have to listen to this again. I liked the intro, loved the solo, but the middle.....
I'm sure it'll grow on me

I love this band but this song actually felt a bit lame, hope their new album is better.

Lyrically it was a good idea.. but the way he did it is pretty cheesy and lame. Musically it's good, not great though.

Can't wait till this one comes out! This album sounds like it's gonna be a good one. "Gears of War" is a pretty sick song too! Awesome. This Message Edited On 11.27.06

Thrash mostly sounds like this, this might be a bit slow compared to most of it though.
