I just listened to some 30 second samples of the album, and from what I can hear, pretty much every
song is better than the 2 they've released thus far.

Song is good. Leaps and bounds better than the mostly sleep-inducing sci-fi crimes. I usually don't give 2 shits about lyrics, but it IS a little harder to take the song seriously when they are saying "hats off to the bull". What were they thinking with that one lol

p.s. not completely relevant but how the hell is Sci-Fi Crimes rated higher than This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In)? I thought it was pretty much universally accepted that WWN and TTOT were their 2 best.

Sci-Fi Crimes will own this.

His voice sounds more.. nasally? Whiney? But other then that, pretty good, though I agree about it being a little harder to take seriously becuase of the "hats off to the bull" part. Still looking forward to the album.

it's not a universal truth by any means. TTOT was ok, but honestly i thought Vena Sera was much more exciting and enjoyable. Sci-Fi Crimes had some great jams too.

song is nothing too surprising though i really enjoyed how well the bass was incorporated into it.

The chrous is really catchy and I love the groove in it, but the song sounds like it could get old quickly, which has me worried since Face To The Floor suffers exactly from that.

i dunno, WWN is pretty good all around, there is only like 1 non-great song. I also think every song on TTOT is at least 3.5 worthy, but my opinion may not be as shared on that one. Maybe I'm just easy.

Same old trip seems good after 1 listen. Interesting to hear some higher harmonizing vocals in that, that's a new trick for them.

Just listened to Same Old Trip, bit different but great! If the rest of the album is as good as the songs already released then I'll be rather happy with this album.

....Meh. Hats off to the Bull is OK, Same Old Trip is really good though.

And Holy crap, the previews for Arise and Clones sound awesome.

This is my least favorite album by them so far...Got the leak and it kinda sucks

After one spin, I must say I'm a bit disappointed and I really dug Sci-Fi Crimes.

Awww disappointing then. And wtf is with "hats off to the bull".

Some sort of epic Spanish concept they're going for.

I don't blame Fromtheinside for getting wet. I love Chevelle probably not as much as him but still.

Same Old Trip > this

I'm not sure what to think of the album really. There's some really good bits and pieces and some excellent concepts, but it all feels kinda spliced together-parts of the songs don't fit with other parts, and as a whole the album doesn't really flow all that well. And their refusal to break their pre-set moulds managed to ruin the song "Envy." It could have done with a sort of slow, build-up style progression but they opted for a typical verse/chorus style and it wrecked the song, however good the melodies are. I'll give it a couple more spins, but there's only a couple songs I'm digging as of now.
