Cold Decides to Break Up Again 2006-11-18 by Jom | 1 Comments | Cold frontman Scooter Ward can't seem to make up his mind for the past couple years.
In February of this year, he announced that his band had broken up, mostly due to label issues and the poor showing the band's fourth album, A Different Kind of Pain, had in sales.
Yet in April, Ward changed his mind saying that the band was "on hiatus" and would return after Ward finished up his side project, known at the time as The Witch.
Ward's inability to make decisions brings us to November 17, where he writes through the band's mySpace the following:
Nothing Last[s] Forever
Cold have decided to disband. We had a great career and played together for over 20 years. We thank the Cold Army [street team] for all their support and love throughout our span and the members of Cold are grateful for the music we made and the accomplishements we have. We were blessed to make music and let it be heard. Thank you all for your love and support and check out my new project When November Falls. We will continue this [mySpace] out of love for y'all and the music. And I would like to have y'alls support on my new project... I love all y'all so take care and WELCOME TO THE NEXT LEVEL! For real. So I look forward to seeing you guys soon.
Much love!!!!
VIVA LA COLD

Whether or not Ward is going to go through with this decision this time remains to be seen. Some examples of Ward's inability to come to a final decision include the following:
- A Different Kind of Pain was the final title for the band's fourth album, although previous working titles included ... And A Sad Song Lives On and The Calm That Killed The Storm.
- After guitarists Terry Balsamo (Evanescence) and Kelly Hayes (Allele) left the band, Ward brought in three different guitarists (one of them being ex-Darwin's Waiting Room axeman Eddie Rendini) before dismissing them all without warning.
- The status of the band itself.

oh god,fuck it!
a different kind of pain was really bad... about two songs in the beginning i can stand and that is it. a different kin do fpain should have been his solo album anyway. it was all about him,the band seemed lifeless and could have easily been replaced by session musicians.
he can fuck up cold to no end but he still won't ruin 13 ways to bleed onstage as one of the best albums ever.
