KoRn to release acoustic album

2006-11-16 by IsItLuck? EMERITUS | 26 Comments
Korn will release its first-ever acoustic album early next year, according to AlbumVote.co.uk. The group will issue a live "Mtv Unplugged" LP through Virgin Records on Monday, February 19 in the United Kingdom.

The California-based band will join a legendary list of artists to release live albums for the music channel, including Nirvana, Neil Young and Sting.

The track listing for the CD has yet to be announced.

As previously reported, Korn frontman Jonathan Davis told rock radio station HardDrive Radio that the band has already written 18 songs for its new album since heading into the studio last month.

Korn began writing its eighth studio album on October 2. Davis wrote in an Oct. 1 online post, "I can't wait. I know it's gonna be insane. The band is really on fire and have some phat shit to record." Davis had said in earlier interviews that he and guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer had both been writing new material while on the road in support of the band's last album, "See You on the Other Side".

The band plans once again to collaborate with The Matrix, the songwriting and producing team that worked with the group on "See You on the Other Side".

Davis recently told Launch that he is considering going on his first solo tour sometime in the next few months, after the band finishes recording its new CD.

I don't know if Davis' vocals and a career of 7-string guitars will let them pull this off.

I dont know which I'd rather avoid: "Progressive-style" Linkin park or "acoustic" Korn. I reckon somebody is playing jokes on us.... At least I hope they are.

if the songs are rearranged for acoustic playing than i think it could be amazing...we will have to see. the acoustic version of coming undone i saw was weird but i liked it.

Well I used to like Korn, but that was about six years ago. This album will suck, and come to think of it Korn sucks (sorry but I do have an opinion).

this band have an alarmingly small amount of material that doesn't suck, and an even more alarmingly small proportion of it that would work acoustically.

hell, at least we're not getting another fieldy's dreams album...

Ugh! Are you serious?

Someone please tell me this is just a bad rumor.

This idea will hang an already dead band...not to mention waste a lot of money

eww I just thought about fieldy's bass. It sounds muddy enough with an electric bass, imagine an acoustic?!!!?!??!

Just listen to it, it makes you cringe. I do like Korn but only selective stuff. I pretty much hate everything past issues spare a few songs.

the only album i don't like as a whole is take a look at the mirror. as far as bass,i've heard filedy's acoustic bass sound and it good.

i really think everyone is going overboard with how the songs will be acoustic just because they don't like the band.

coming undone is no where near one of the worst singles of 2006. i love that song.

Yeah this will pretty much not be good.

But....Korn is not so bad. I use to hate them, but they kinda don't suck as much as I thought they did.
