First off, I love Kanye. He's a monster producer which is what I really like about him, but I don't think he's a bad rapper either. thats a tough one, because i think rap wise, da drought 3 and dedication 2 are the best in terms of flow and lyrical dexterity, but the beats are all jacked from pop songs from when the mixtapes were released.
tha carter II is if you prefer a less mainstreamified (read: no autotune) wayne (the link i posted is from it) and it has some killlller beats and it manages to have this cinematic quality to it which i think is a major development for him
personally i think tha carter III is his best work because it brings his lyrical talent, that cinematic sorta vibe plus amazing amazing production (for the most part) all together although he isnt as much of a monster as he was on the two mixtapes. It's a slick, virtuosic rap album and it's pretty out there in terms of rap. He uses his voice in so many different and effective ways too, like in Playing With Fire he starts off just spitting really slow and by verse 3 hes yelling and his voice is cracking and the production increases accordingly. it's just so fucking chilling.
