These are gonna be sooooooo much better than Devin's albums though :D.
| |
we'll see. i love steven but some of his other stuff isn't that good
| |
they'll both be awesome
| |
(which begs the question; when is a double album not a double album?)
Not sure...ask Outkast. Or System of a Down, for that matter.
| |
actually i don't feel that last comment accurately depicts my excitement for this
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YESSSSSSSSSS FUCKING 2011
| |
Devin Townsend and Steven Wilson FUCK YES.
| |
insurgentes got more incredible each time I listened to it, to the point that it might now be my favourite ever SW related release.
I think these albums are going to be very, very good.
| |
Really hope his ditched the noises that were present in Insurgents. I don't care how deep or 'symbolic' it may be, it's a pain to listen to.
Devin's two 70 min. albums will most likely be better than this though, but no doubt that this will also be something to look forward to.
Both artists are entirely different in sound anyway.
| |
I loved everything about insurgentes.
| |
Steve Wilson has been very hit or miss lately. The lastest Porcupine Tree album was okay but not great and he did a terrible job producing Orphaned Land's last record.
| |
Two 40-45 min albums, while HevyDevy has two albums >70min, and an EP for Ghost 2 which is prob 40min.
| |
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YES YESSSSSSSSSS FUCKING 2011

I was just about to put that. SO EXCITED.
| |
Steven Wilson is not a man
| |
I'm definitely looking forward to these, but what's up with those album titles?
| |
He's just copying Liz Harris.
| |
I'm pretty sure he said he'd release both albums in autumn. Ths quote from his FB profile says nothing about the albums being released in June, it says the website will be launched in June.
| |
I'll be looking forward to hearing these but I'm not sure how good they'll be considering his recent output has been somewhat stale.
| |
he'll soon burn out
| |
So where is Akerfeldt's solo shit, dammit.
| |
I like the first album title but second is kinda meh.
| |
hsthomas is an idiot
| |
Steven wilson is the man, but I have a feeling this is gonna be shitty and wierd like that blackfield crap.
| |
I don't get the Wilson hate. Both Insurgentes and FOABP were marvelous.
| |
^what about The Incident though? Anyways...he makes good music, just not something I find myself
wanting to listen to. two different albums that you buy as one package though? that seems kinda
strange...
| |
Brent Hinds will be better
| |
The only problem with The Incident is that it wasn't Fear of a Blank Planet, which is the best prog rock album ever recorded. I haven't gotten into Blackfield or No-man yet, but everything else that Steven Wilson has done has been so much greater than than the overwhelming majority of what is available, that there is literally no reason not to expect both of these albums to be solid fucking gold.
| |
"Fear of a Blank Planet, which is the best prog rock album ever recorded"
Whoa there, hold the phone.
| |
I haven't been disappointed by any Porcupine Tree album yet and his solo album was also excellent. It was kind of the next logical step after FoaBP and so was The Incident after Insurgentes. Personally I think The Incident is PT's biggest grower.
| |
lol best prog rock album ever recorded
| |
His solo stuff really and truly sucks.
| |
it's pretty boring
| |
All of Steven's projects are good and his solo stuff is awesome as well. Looking forward to this.
| |
Steven wilson is the man, but I have a feeling this is gonna be shitty and wierd like that blackfield crap.
-------------------
Blackfield is actually quite good.
| |
Yeah dude Blackfield is really good. Their new record is among their best.
| |
And another 'Progressive' artist thinks the only way of being truly progressive is to release too much stuff.
| |
probably one of the dumbest comments i've seen in a long time.
| |
He's an indie hipster. Seriously what do you expect?..
| |
Well, if it's two separate albums released together I see no problem; but when a band releases two discs that are supposed to be the same album it becomes very hard to listen to it in one sitting.
I'm still looking forward to this; I hope it's better than The Incident (what a mess of an album that was)
| |
Not too sure about this. I'm a big SW fan and certain moments of 'Insurgentes' were sublime, however judging by 'The Incident', Orphaned Land and Blackfield's latest (basically everything he's been involved in lately with the exception of Anathema) it seems he's kinda lost it.
| |
stop being stupid brick
| |
On the subject of Brick; It would really help to actually tell people why their opinions are wrong instead of just calling them names.
| |
LOL ZANDERS. NO
| |
Insurgentes, FOABP, The Incident, all excellent in my opinion. Granted 2 out of the 3 took a few listens to fully get into. Excited for this.
| |
I heard that he recorded stuff for the album with Mikeal Akerfeldt during the production of Opeth's new album
| |
This will be fucking amazing. It's Steven Wilson, he hasn't failed me yet.
| |
So excited. Everything he has touched I have at least liked, but mostly loved.

Didn't think this alone would be worth posting another news article for, but yeah.
