listened to it three times through now, and i have come to really enjoy it. its a slight (but sort of quick) grower, because they've done pretty overblown dramatic pieces in the past ("Cheerio Chaps", "Vigil for a Fuddy Duddy", and "We Still Got the Taste Dancin on Our Tongues" to name a few) but this is much more subdued and muted. I like it though, I think it suits them. The vocals are more delicate, controlled, and more beautiful throughout. This is very toughtful music. I think my favorite tracks are "Lion's Share", "Bed of Nails", and "Loop the Loop".

Really was a bit worried when I heard Albatross because it sounded a lot like the stuff on Two Dancers. I'm really glad my mind was changed immediately. This album is really a masterpiece. The atmosphere throughout is much darker and fulfilling to another side of Wild Beasts. My Favourite tracks so far are: Loop the Loop, Invisible, Lion's Share, End Come Too Soon. Really well put together piece of work and strong contender for album of the year.
