Doesn't rule out a prequel!

... And back come the conspiracy theorists.
|

oh god the disappointment

In the immortal words of Dan Forden
"Awwwwwwww"

|

they're probably giving us a clue
In order to hear the sequel to KOL you have to reverse the album, speed it up, lower the pitch, add reverb and add it to the actual album. yeah that's what thom wanted you to do.
WE ALREADY HAD IT AND WE DIDN'T KNOW
|
| |
i was only excited for a sequel until TKOL sucked
|
| |
:[ [2]
|

:D
|

Ire ftw
|
| |
Emim won the whole thread.
|
| |
Hey, don't look glum. We'll get another 9 songs...
5 years from now :P
|
| |
BUT YOU GUYS SEPERATOR
|
| |
@irving
..yeah.. yeah he did.
|
| |
My life is over. Thanks a lot world.
|
| |
Hopefully no Radiohead fans are harmed in the non-making of this album.
|
| |
And I have been saying this since day one
|
| |
"When we start a new record, we tend to start afresh. It’s kind of an evolutionary thing... Only the fittest survive.”
Nude wasn't a new song for In Rainbows. Ed's lying about starting afresh. Ed's a liar. He's lying about the whole thing there is still a sequel.
|
| |
Dev, the band made a tenth year anniversary secret album in tribute to Abbey Road using crossfaded tracks from OK Computer and In Rainbows and were so surprised that their fans took a year to find out.
I doubt a sequel album is really that out there.
|
| |
Massively overrated band decides not to release more music after never saying they were going to in the first place. Shocker!

"band decides not to release more music after never saying they were going to in the first place"
hahahaha awesome.
|
| |
Its good to know that they won't release part 2 to a terrible album.
|
| |
we must celebrate!
|
| |
Wait so they're releasing a trilogy?
|
| |
Wait!111 Is the radiohed saying no more albumz!?1?
|
| |
Hahaha I knew Radiohead would let you all down.
|
| |
Linkage to the two new singles in not so good quality...

I honestly am a bit disappointed by this news. I thought The King Of Limbs wasn't as good as it could have been, making my expectations high for a part 2. Now that there isn't, I feel a even more disappointed.
|
| |
I'm with you, InFiction. I personally thought the King of Limbs was a big letdown. 8 songs after three years wouldn't have been a big deal if more than two were worth mentioning.
|
| |
i have no strong feelings in one direction or the other!
|
| |
would have been nice but cmon who actually expected another album
|
| |
CONSPIRACY
|
| |
This is disapp--oh wait I don't care.
|
| |
I'm glad I don't like Radiohead much. I'd be sad and disappointed otherwise.
|
| |
Clicked thinking that it meant that Radiohead split up. Now I'm disapointed.
|
| |
long live the king
|
| |
would have been nice but cmon who actually expected another album
You'd be surprised
|
| |
Someone linked a blog in one of the review threads for TKOL where some guy posted about 10 pages worth of various conspiracy crap ranging from Thom following 1 person on twitter to the positioning of the moon
|
| |
Wut? That's weird man.
|
| |
I'll see if I can track it down, but in the meantime here are my thoughts simplified in the form of a video:

|
| |
Lol I hate that song, everyone uses it on Youtube. Ugh.
|
| |
Referring to this, Dev?
http://thekingoflimbspart2.com/
|
| |
That was it, I just found it as well!
I wonder if that guy realises he just wasted a few months of his life
|
| |
He seems a tad bit over obsessed with Radiohead.
|
| |
"This does mark the first time that the band have actually denied there being a Part 2 to The King Of Limbs. So, after almost 2 months of silence from the band, only 1 post on DAS, The Universal Sigh, Chieftan Mews, and Aporia we get a denial. Why not deny the rumors 2 months ago when they started? Even The Universal Sigh seemed to contain lyrics that did not appear on The King Of Limbs. Why was the band silent for so long? This only fueled the speculation. I still don’t think there has been an interview with the band about The King Of Limbs. And, what about that photo of the band standing in front of the 2 trees in the woods taken by Sebastien Edge? Why were 4 of them raising an arm in that photo? If they had announced the track-listing when they first announced The King Of Limbs would they have sold as many? No one has seen the Newspaper Edition yet, so that is hard to say without seeing it. I for one am I still glad I ordered it."
Some hardcore fan right here.
|
| |
WHY WERE 4 OF THEM RAISING AN ARM IN THAT PHOTO?
^ My new catch-phrase.
|
| |
I just discovered Radiohead's secret album.
|
| |
Radiohead... more like DICKHEAD
|
| |
"taken by Sebastien Edge"
Whoa, he delved into that photo.
|
| |
I am Chieftan Mews
|
| |
I wouldn't expect any less of Radiohead. Quality albums take time, and King of Limbs was literally just dropped.
|
| |

Again, releasing a secret companion album to TKOL really doesn't sound too crazy in comparison. I'm just saying that the people that speculated this had decent reasons to believe an immediate sequel was coming.
|
| |
You're just saying that because you were one of them weren't you?
|
| |
you will never let me win
|
| |
nope
|
| |
my dog doesn't like you
|
| |
would have been nice but the album is perfect in every way so I`m not complaining.
|
| |
This made my day. Seriously, a part 2!?? Really?
To those who wonder why they didn't comment until now, simple answer - marketing. Keep the hype train going and continue to generate buzz for an extended period of time. Pretty sure these guys are smart.
|
| |
pretty sure they don't give a shit about the paycheck...I mean they have been the most successful band for over a decade, creep alone must pay the bills
|
| |
lol survival of the fittest. their album was fucking awful, they should be extinct according to darwin.
and rabbit, stfu, you're a fucking tard
|
| |
lol @ radiohead 'not giving a shit about the paycheck'
|
| |

Pretty much said the same thing in a discussion I had with Kubrick in the TKOL thread. Worst thing the band could've done at the start was say "sorry guys, no album". Why would they have to apologize for something that was never going to happen. Just wait until all the questions start pouring in and then simply say "what? we never said anything about another album"
|
| |
wink wink
jizz jizz
gonna sell our bullshit
to all these kids
|
| |
-thom
|
| |
Considering they're about to charge a ridiculous amount for some tacky 'Newspaper Edition' of their
(terrible) album it seems they do care about the money.
Just reading that blog somebody posted a few comments above. I actually feel sorry for the guy, he's
obviously invested a lot of hope in there being a part two for some reason.
|
| |
who the hell is staff reviewer JViney
|
| |
ed o'brien has 8 letters in his first and last name. the king of limbs had 8 songs. the date this was posted: 4/14/11...4+4+1-(1x1)=8
yeah basically there's gonna be a sequel
|
| |
rofl
|
| |
the blog was creepy, but absolutely hilarious to see the banner with the title and then the first post directly beneath saying its not gonna happen. i really cant imagine that guy in real life
|
| |
DIDN'T SUCK
you just don't understand radiohead like me and rabbit, man.
|
| |
i still wanna know what to do with the code i got with my copy of the universal sigh
|
| |
TKOL was...good?
|
| |
People seriously believed that there was going to be a King of Limbs sequel? I just thought this idea was tossed around as a joke.
|
| |
The Queen of Limbs is coming. RH is just fooling us.
|
| |
LOOOOOOOOOOL, good.
|
| |
pretty sure they don't give a shit about the paycheck...I mean they have been the most successful band for over a decade, creep alone must pay the bills
???
|
| |
Emim please stop winning the thread.
|
| |
Ewin
But seriously, I'm pretty sure Nickelback makes more than their entire album off of one single (this here is called hyperbole), and it's obvious the "success" he's talking about is monetary.
|
| |
Obviously. But I don't think Radiohead make albums because they need money. I honestly believe that they make albums because they enjoy doing it. I could be mistaken of course...
|
| |
Pssh, like people make music for the enjoyment of it.
Fuck bitches
make music you enjoy making
Get money
|
| |
i enjoyed the king o limbss
|
| |
Me too!
|
| |
yeah, i mean, i figured there would be a sequel because of the "revolutionary release", the double vinyl, the download code, and "if you think this is over you're wrong." seemed like a conspiracy, but it also seemed like something radiohead would do. i'm disappointed because TKOL sounds unfinished...it's like NIN's the slip
|
| |
King Of Limbs was an excellent album, I'm happy without a "sequel". Can't believe the negative reaction to TKOL
|
| |
look at me I'm thom yorke I read the bible
|
| |
That guy wasting his time on that ridiculous blog isn't as bad as the time I wasted listening to the album. I curled into a ball and listened to Ok Computer on repeat afterwards.
|
| |
would like to take this moment to revel in the "told-you-so" greatness over the people who said the
reviews for king of limbs were too early when there was obviously going to be another half released or
whatevs
|
| |
Regardless, I think writing a review for an album the day you listen to it is ridiculous no matter how good of a reviewer you are. *cough* iai *cough*
|
| |
in other news, LeBron James has taken his talents to South Beach and the U.S. has a black president.
|
| |
waiting for Bill Simmons to post an article today so I can take my talents to south beach for about 20 minutes
|
| |
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Well one less thing that I need to worry about I guess. Now to listen to Let Down...
|
| |
No alarms and no surprises.
|
| |
kol.... let down of 2011
|
| |
I don't know I actualy liked King of Limbs, and was ticked that it was only 8 songs, thank god i didnt get that BS newspaper edition
|
| |
Radiohead you've done it again.
|
| |

How many times before have I said that a 10" vinyl will only hold 4 songs, 2 on each side. And as for the revolutionary release, ever heard of a newspaper album before? You can argue the merits of how revolutionary something like that might be but at least it's new
|
| |
i still wanna know what to do with the code i got with my copy of the universal sigh
Shit, I forgot about that. Yeah, I've still got mine but have no idea what to do with it.

TKOL is an awesome album, 1. if you're already a fan and 2. if you take it for what it is.
I wouldn't place it above many Radiohead albums, but that isn't saying alot. RH has an unbelievable discography.
PLUS, the 2 songs they just released are both incredible in their own right.
|
| |
i still wanna know what to do with the code i got with my copy of the universal sigh

You both get to tour the wonka factory, congrats
