At first I was really bummed about this happening but now that the keyboards are gone and Spicuzza isn't on the new album i'm HOPING for something more in the vein of their self-titled.

I’ve decided to shift gears from music to gaming. A group of friends and I started up a mobile gaming company. We’re about to launch our first iPhone game. It’s a location based RPG. Think of it as foursquare meets Mafia Wars but full of zombies.
TROLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!
| |
He did not contribute to Chimaira's upcoming 6th studio album
then why was he in the band?
| |
I lol'd at the gaming thing too haha
| |
Probably means he left before they started recording
| |
Dem keebordists droppin' liek fliez.
| |
Yeah, I hoped they sharpened the guitars and drums for the new album like they did for the self-titled
| |
No offense to the guy, but he was becoming less and less a part of the group with every album, and everything he was doing can be easily replicated in pro tools by any producer or engineer. Some of his piano fills were cool, but other than that he was essentially just throwing in some static in between each track. Plus the theremin isn't exactly a head scratcher
| |
whoa chimairas still a band
| |
Couldn't have put it any better Deviant. Very true.
| |
this is so un-journey
| |
They had a keyboardist? The fuck.
| |
"They had a keyboardist? The fuck."
my thoughts exactly
| |
^Fuck, you two are stupid
| |
A supergroup composed of keyboardists?
| |
^And Portnoy to keep time.
| |
A real shame, he added subtle but awesome atmospheric sounds to the band, he did say on the DVD he enhances the overall sound and not dominate like he did on the debut.
| |
lol portnoy
| |
Shit blows, out of all the metalcore bands i've always loved these guys. Looks like the end could be on the horizon. Lamarca left and now spicuzza. And so ive heard two of the other guys have been playing in six feet under. Shit dont sound too hopefull
| |
2011 - the year the keyboardists left
| |
Yeah Rob and Matt have joined Six Feet Under as rhythm guitarist and bassist and Kevin Talley joined as drummer. The new SFU lineup is essentially most of the lineup from the self-titled Chimaira album lol
| |
^And Portnoy to keep time.
casios have metronomes.
| |
DAMMIT
He was one of the most talented members in the band. You could totally hear the staleness of a song when he didn't contribute to it, whether a large contribution or small one.
| |
lol
| |
I was not making a joke
| |
But it was oh so funny ;)
| |
bummer.
| |
bloc smash
I tend to imagine users' avatars speaking their comments , and it's hard to get used to Enim's Hobbes avatar
| |
That's weird

Call me crazy but this might get pretty big.
| |
Chimaira is Opeth...
| |
Spicuzza was barely on The Infection and that was their worst album by far.
| |
Keyboardists have a knack for hide-and-seek apparently
| |
they had a keyboardist?
| |
Wtf I agree with the other people I never even knew they had keyboards in this band. Regardless, WHO THE HELL CARES.
| |
Looking forward to the new album regardless of the news.
| |
Spicuzza was barely on The Infection and that was their worst album by far.
What are you deaf? He's on that album quite a bit
| |
I'm almost deaf in one ear, but as prominent as Spicuzza was on Resurrection, The Infection didn't really showcase him at all.
| |
Well no, I wouldn't say it was a showcase for him (but none of the albums really have been) but he was still quite prominent. He does provide quite a bit that gets slightly relegated to the background, which is fine, because when you start bringing your keys and whatnot the to the forefront you become a power metal band
| |
Now where in the hell did I put that keyboardist ? Hmmm. Yeah, I won't quit my day job.
| |
The thing I always liked about him was how he wasn't really a run-of-the-mill keyboardist who picked a patch from his synth and played a line. He was more of an "electronics" kind of guy, pretty much like the guy from Deftones. So I suppose it was a good thing he always remained in the back most of the time.
| |
I like what he contributed to their stuff, i'll miss the electronic aspect of their sound going on behind everything but honestly Chimaira are at their best when they approach an album like they did with their self-titled, they need to do more of that.
| |
I totally agree. The self titled was their best by miles; great production and tons of groove.
| |
Forgot these guys existed. Oh well moving on...
| |
They had one?
| |
damn. aint that a bitch. he had some good backup vocals
| |
i just hope they make something like their s/t again, only album i could fully sit through from these guys, everything else just seems so meh
| |
So what band will lose their keyboardist next then?
Also, I went to one of their concerts and I'm pretty sure the "keyboardist" was just some guy on a Macbook with the samples...
| |
OMG pre-recorded sounds!!!
| |
Once Andols doesn't leave again I'll always invest time in any new releases from these guys, even though The Infection was a pretty bad effort.
| |
And so ive heard two of the other guys have been playing in six feet under
why would you leave an average to decent band for literally one of the worst bands in existence.
it makes no sense!
| |
wow this sucks I hope they can wait forgot don't care
| |
Fuck your power trip.
| |
Keyboard revolt
| |
THEY BETTER FIND HIM.
