Have been listening to that demo a LOT in the past year; really excited to hear the studio version. This is definitely one of my most anticipated albums of the year.
Going to see them in Austin on the 17th--hopefully they play some more new songs (I wonder how many of those demo'd songs are going to make it onto the album. "A Loophole In Limbo" sounded good, too).

| |
band rules, I'm pumped for the new album. I'll check out the song in a bit.
| |
So stoked, I love these guys.
| |
song is amazing
the bass or whatever it is sounds great
| |
Yeah song was insane.
| |
Blocked at work, just my luck. Love this band. So stoked for the new album
| |
great fucking band, great fucking song.
| |
Twas pretty good. Can't say I understand the worship of this band that I witness on here though...
| |
I think I actually prefer the demo version. I don't like what they did to the intro.
| |
So good
| |
yea this band is kind of hit or miss
| |
Song was really good. Chorus was nice, although I kind of hoped for more of a bridge. The slightly heavier direction of this album is pretty sweet.
| |
So stoked for this album!
| |
Goddamn that was awesome. New album should be amazing
| |
That was pretty good. Not amazing or anything, but good.
| |
Alright. Dude eventually is going to have to realize that hitting the same pitch in every chorus is going to wear out its welcome.
| |
Going to listen to this fairly soon can't wait.
| |
So. Fucking. Good.
| |
this is alright. a bit too reminiscient of Lo-Pro, except with better drums and vocals
| |
Never fail to impress.
| |
this song only made me hate this band more
| |
Bass was so out of place, no matter how technical it was. And the toms in the prechorus is some of the worst production work I've heard in a while. Everything else was pretty standard Fair to Midland fare.
Disappointing, but the album should still be good.
| |
Yea the demo sounded much better. This version has too many awkward, out of place sounds....
| |
That song was really damn good and the bass was pretty decent.
| |
Saw these guys last week. Intense show, seemed so much crazier than the album.
| |
I'm like the only one on sputnik that can't get into these guys.

Fuuuuuuck yeeeeesss, my only gripe is that I prefer the bass tone in the demo
| |
That fucking ruled. Fables was awesome so I have pretty high hopes for this.

every chorus is exactly the same...same note same not same note climax...
| |
aw shit. new fair to midland album soon too? fucking 2011 you are my dawg.
| |
oh look. yet another Fair to Midland song that's great. how original
| |
this was so fucking good.
| |
Shut up faggots. Just jealous cause you can't hit them highs like this angel does.
| |
Seems like they're trying a bit too hard, but still good. It's like pulling the bass from Schism and putting it in a pop punk song. This was actually the least exciting of the demo songs imo.
| |
It's so catchy! The chorus isn't as immediately catchy to me as, say, "Dance of the Manatee" or "Tall Tales...," but I found that it got stuck in my head weeks later, then I'd have to listen to the song again to get it out.
And the drums are damn amazing!
| |
i disagree with the people who say "he hits the same note in every song", first of all because that's a musically ignorant statement. one of the things i like so much about fair to midland is that darroh's melodies are all so unique. including this one from musical chairs.
| |
I like how the keyboards are part of the song, not just an afterthought.
| |
Sounds great! I've had Fables in my car since the day it was released. Wish I didn't have to wait four years for another album, but I'm still pumped.
| |
yes yes yes

"I'm like the only one on sputnik that can't get into these guys."
thank you

I don't know if the heavier sound fits them. I'll have to hear the whole album.

There's probably a lot of them, but they don't bother to post on bands that they don't like.
| |
Yeah, didn't like the bass at all. Other than that, i heard this song a couple times on Fables.
| |
I don't know if the heavier sound fits them. I'll have to hear the whole album.

Have you heard their Pre-Mayfly stuff?

boner inducing song. Fuck yes.
