Alkaline Trio Talks New Album 2006-10-12 by The Sludge | 8 Comments | The Alkaline Trio are slowly making progress on their next album.
Drummer Derek Grant revealed that the band had started writing its next album, and plans to head into the studio in February to lay the songs to tape.
The still-untitled album is tentatively planned for a spring release, and will follow up last year's Crimson (Vagrant).
"The first notes of the new album have been written, for those in doubt," he reported in a brief update on his blog.

woohooo. Exciting news. Maybe they'll do better than Crimson, which I cant really get into aside from a few songs.

that's great can't wait to hear it. i liked crimson, and I heard somewhere that Skiba is writing songs using a piano, so it may be similar to Crimson. You should try to get into it because it's a good album but I can see why some wouldn't like it

I think this is great news! I did realy like Crimson, but I hope the new record doesn't sound too much like that. It should be faster!

sounds good to me. however if it's to much like crimson then i may be dissapointed.... as good as crimson was hopefuly they start to produce FHTI or good mourning kinda style again.
