But, there are definitely problems. The bass seems plain and I don't like the new production, it has little old school metal feel. Speaking of that, at times you realize the guitarists are way too young. That awful breakdown, and the production are reminiscent of deathcore.

By the way, there is a tom in there that sounds frickin' terrible - like a windows error message popping up.

The songwriting, riffs and vocals all have a slightly more modern sound and production while still maintaining that old-school Atheist sound... that's awesome!

With only one listen it sounds like it could be promising. I am sure with additional listens it will really grow on me. Glad to see them back.

Maybe you other listeners might enjoy it, but I thought it was really bad. The beginning is so bad, those high pitched notes they're playing remind me of deathcore and some other bits remind me of it too. The riff following that is good, and for a moment I'm like "YEAH!" but then... they just throw their instruments around randomly. This one song is a bigger example of wasted "good" ideas ruined by a lack of structure and flow than Dark Angel's Time Does Not Heal.
