Avril Lavigne: Spitting Queen 2006-10-03 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 7 Comments | TMZ.com has obtained footage of a clearly intoxicated Avril Lavigne spitting on photographers.
Lavigne was celebrating her twenty-second birthday with husband Derek Whibley (of rock band Sum 41) and friends on Tuesday last. Upon leaving Hyde Club in Hollywood, she smiled and signed autographs with the epithet "Fuck You" (not believed to be her real name) before getting into a waiting car.
Shortly after, the singer called a photographer to the window and spat on his lens. She later apologised for her conduct, but I think I speak for everyone at sputnikmusic.com when I say it would've been funnier had she not said a word.
Said Avril: "I'd like to sincerely apologize for my behavior with the Paparazzi. It's trying at best dealing with their insistent intrusions. I meant no offense to my fans, whose relationship I truly value. I have and will always go out of my way for my fans. My behavior was a reaction to the persistent attack from the paparazzi."
