I guess to explain why I dislike the name, I kind of feel like the mindset it implies is
"We're back", which is the wrong attitude. I think the absolute last thing I want is
DBM 2, because as much as I like that album, they've made a lot of improvements
since then. It should be Happiness 2 With Better Vocalists if anything. The only thing
that was better about DBM is Jonny, and I don't think they should let his position in
the band influence them to go back to making that album again.

happiness 2 would be better. I really enjoyed happiness it was a much more directed album then dbm. dbm tried to make guitar and vocals be the shining point of the album and it just endded up sounding too chaotic to me. on happiness with the played down vocals (as opposed to craigs) the album had terrific emphasis on bass and guitar which i liked.

Too bad 3 of the 5 people from Happiness are now gone from the band and therefore will sound nothing like Happiness

Raekwon revisited an album that was better than anything else he'd put out by a long shot. DGD is revisiting an album that would be a complete regression in almost every aspect.

It was good, but I enjoyed the overall sound of their self-titled more than any other record by them

Happiness had 3 songs with mostly Pop Influence, Don't Tell Dave, Strawberry Swisher pt.1 and pt.2, and that's not even a bad thing, its what they always hinted at and finally incorporated!

Enrique it's actually my favorite album by them, but I'm a sucker for Jonny's voice. Besides the vocals, Happiness is much better though.

Yeah I think they should go ahead with the Happiness sound because the fact that craigs in the band automatically means most of the good from DBM will be there. I'm just worried they might dumb it down a bit to make him the center. Which wouldn't be terrible, but we already have 2 emarosa albums.

Definitely not, but I think the sexy, laid-back aesthetic he brought to the band was a lot more enjoyable to listen to. Their self-titled album is one of my favorites and him joining brought a lot of musical changes from DBM that I thought made a better band. Like I said, Craig is definitely more talented than Travis, but I enjoy Travis's vocals so much more

Well, what I'm saying is I'd like to hear them keep their new sound with Jonny. My point was that they shouldn't go for DBM 2 because they did get better w/o Jonny, and they should keep doing what they're doing and let JC fill in the role he needs to with their next album, instead of going for the sound they had when he was in the band.

TM: I guess you're right, incorporating their new musical ideas with his voice would definitely be cool, but idk; I was pretty disappointed when Travis left, and if I want some of Craig's vocals there's DBM, his own album, and the Emarosa albums. Not to mention the guest spots he's done with 103203059 post-hardcore bands

i dislike some songs on Happiness but for the amount of time that the album was created and produced it is exceptionally good. They lost two band members. There are many great tracks on that album, but some lyrics and guitar/drum parts ruin some songs for me.

they are only calling it that way because jonny named it DBMII in an interview with AP as current working title and that we get an impression of what he is intending musically - a continuation of DBM. anyway, there is no source at all that officially signs this name - especially(!) not their myspace page. do better research next time. they will announce the real name together with the setlist after preproduction is done.

Yeah Jonny Craig's voice is pretty much stuck on one scale on every song. It never changes lol. Gets kind of redundant when its the same stuff on every song, and in every band he's ever been in. His replacement does a good job on the last two albums but sucks pretty bad live >.<

Nonetheless I hope DGD top Downtown Battle Mountain with the return of Craig and Mess. And of course their album arts is still awesome and supercute as always ;3

Well he lied because his best vocal work is with dgd but he has some pretty sick vocal work on a few emarosa songs. But i agree he did not try with his solo stuff though.
