Will check this out later.
|
| |
just got it, now I need to muster up the strength to listen
|
| |
All right. I need to limber up for this one.
Here we go, be back in a while in either tears, or tears.
Let's go..........
|
| |
Wow this amazing
it's so good
|
| |
I have time to listen to this, and I'm not doing anything else. But I'm not going to.
|
| |
Fuck you Larry
|
| |
Damn it Rivers' voice sounds so bland. Still decent so far.
|
| |
Best album cover of the past 100 years. =D
Will definitely check out later. (even though their last album was absolutely atrocious.)
|
| |
the first song sounded awful, stopped right there
|
| |
Just listened to it in its entirety. To be honest, this is by far and away the best thing they've done in years...which really isn't saying much, but still! There are some pretty awesome moments on it (especially the last bit of Unspoken) and Where's My Sex is absolutely hilarious!
Most of the songs really benefit from the raw production, however the latter half of the album is somewhat forgettable...it kind of merges into a big blob of distortion. Anywho, pretty good album so far, only time will tell if it's still worth listening to months down the line...
|
| |
this is actually not bad
|
| |
way better than raditude so far
|
| |
on the first song
it's not too bad
|
| |
ruling me is pretty awesome so far
|
| |
Needs more emotion in Cuomo's voice, and Matt Sharp. Otherwise, not half bad.
|
| |
Listening to that now, actually. Sounds awesome.
|
| |
i'm actually liking this
God dammit Pinkerton, why do you do this to me?
|
| |
you cunt i already did that
|
| |
can i review it guys
ill give it a 5 promise
|
| |
Michael Cera (Scott Pilgrim) featured in "Hang On"
wut
|
| |
A-thom is already getting at this
|
| |
you fuckers need to read my soundoff
|
| |
So what would you guys rate this right now?
|
| |
honestly it's at a like 3.5-4 for me
|
| |
Same. Run Away and Unspoken are damned sexy right now.
|
| |
it's better than Periphery so far.
|
| |
Might actually buy the CD. Maybe.
|
| |
Will check this out once a physical copy drops
|
| |
Surprisingly not terrible!
|
| |
It's funny how almost every single user on sputnik was dreading this album, now everyone who still faith has bragging rights.
I'll check this out later.
|
| |
Pretty boring so far
|
| |
Lack of a title track is disappointing
|
| |
...so im hearing that this aint too shabby?
|
| |
This isn't that good, just better than Raditude
|
| |
What a surprise! This is actually good!
|
| |
ya
logic says 2.5
fanboy says 3.5-4
|
| |
This is surprisingly un-cringe worthy.
|
| |
Where's my sex is actually funny rather than cringe worthy which is what I sort of expected it to be from the title.
|
| |
I'm going with 2.5 or maybe 3
|
| |
Pretty good. the lyrics of Where's my sex? are lol.
|
| |
"I've never understood why Sputnik loves this band so much. They are just an average, boring rock band"
sputnik likes lots of average boring bands so why are you surprised
|
| |
Pinkerton and Blue are classics, so no, not average.
yeah a-thom is doing the review i think
|
| |
Didn't even know another one was coming out so soon.
|
| |
Its decent, certainly better than their past few albums. between a 3 and a 3.5 for me.
|
| |
Um yeah
I mean they're no Metallica or Killswitch Engage.
|
| |
i'm pleasantly surprised by this, so far
|
| |
ruling me is so catchy
|
| |
Not sure if I like this much.
|
| |
Album is worst news ever for Weezer fanboys because it proves they're no longer the people that wrote Blue/Pinkerton - it's clearly not self-parody as has often been suggested - but it's also the best thing they've done in SO. LONG. 4/5.
|
| |
This is so so so good.
|
| |
Sounds great to me. But then again I've never listened to Weezer before.
|
| |
wtf this is good
|
| |
apparently i need to check this out.
|
| |
wait, this is good?
|
| |
Erm, yes.
Very good.
:S!
|
| |
Whoa best since Pinkerton? I shall give this a listen tomorrow. Surprise of the year?
|
| |
Almost certainly.
|
| |
ugh. okay. will dl
|
| |
yeah this is actually
like
good
|
| |
I am actually pumped to hear this. Now if they can only keep this going for them.
|
| |
Guess I'm downloading this...
|
| |
They should've tossed the shitty songs and just made an EP
|
| |
why are weezer just pumping out the albums lately?
|
| |

@lakes
|
| |
THIS IS GOOD?
WHAT.
WILL LISTEN.
|
| |
honestly this made my week
|
| |
im sorry for what i did, i did what my body told me to do
|
| |
im not listening im watching the boise st and vt game, anyone care to tell me what it sounds like?
|
| |
priorities
|
| |
I'm busy watching the game as well.
|
| |
I knew them coming off a major label would pretty much allow them to go in a direction that would benefit them in the long run.
|
| |
Average... the only songs that stick out are "Where's My Sex?" and "Ruling Me." The rest is pretty bland... like a bland cock in the mouth.
|
| |
Listening to Memories right now. Sounds pretty decent and I've never been a huge fan of them.
If this album isn't awesome, then I'll be pissed. Cause Hurley is awesome, as is his portrayer, Jorge Garcia.
|
| |
i just listened to where's my sex and ruling me and they both sucked worse then most of the other 2000s stuff..
i dont know what you guys are talking about.
pinkerton still rules though. butterfly
|
| |
Not bad... not bad at all.
|
| |
I don't get all the hype. It's just as bad as their other recent stuff. They're trying to go in this electronic direction that doesn't sound right.
|
| |
Electronic direction?
Maybe you want to consider taking the cocks out of your ears and actually listening to the album.
|
| |
yeah because saying it's Weezer's best album in a decade is really indicative of its quality lol
|
| |
Lakes you've barely been alive for a decade. Tell your parents to guard the internets.
|
| |
actually it is.
assume you think green is their best post-pinkerton release, and you have that as a 3.
this is better, so its at least a 3.5.
I wouldn't be impressed with a 3 or 3.5 really considering they're obviously capable of like 4.5 material
|
| |
You better be impressed with that SeaAnenome, because I highly doubt they're even capable of making anything above a 4 anymore
they've done it before. they're older. why should I expect less? just because they got worse? that's not an excuse to release average music and impress me.
|
| |
Ok so I'm imagining all the processed vocals and synths on the album? To me that's an electronic influence and that's on the album.
|
| |
Don't like the album? Lower your expectations. Hur. Dur.
|
| |
But, don't they set the bar with their best album?
|
| |
There are synths on almost every single track
really if you can't hear that
|
| |
Three or four songs in and this is markedly better than a lot of the last 10 years of Weezer. LOL @ us for not realizing just how much of a troll Rivers really is
|
| |
Take it easy, Diamond Eyes and Option Paralysis were bigger surprises.
This is a 3
|
| |
a band's best album is the standard for what they're capable of.
anything below that, especially if it's like a 3 when compared to like a 4.5, personally, is kinda obviously a disappointment, no matter how much other bullshit an artist puts out... because they're obviously capable of much better.
idk it's pretty simple
|
| |
123 Eric
|
| |
i can't go out without my sex..... best chorus ever
|
| |
album title/cover is epic win
|
| |
Way better than the last album, I think this ranks a 3.....
|
| |
Never bothered with Weezer, don't plan on starting here.
|
| |
For some reason, people keep saying that Hurley is Weezer's best since Pinkerton. hmm... I wonder when
people will remember that The Green Album and Maladroit exist.
|
| |
Didn't enjoy this at all. I loved Make Believe, but haven't enjoyed anything after that.
|
| |
wtf dude
|
| |
He's hallucinating.
|
| |
Guys I'm pretty sure nobody is saying this is a classic album, but if you rate something 3.5/4 it obviously means you enjoy it pretty damn well, so combine that with the shock value and voila.
|
| |
idk guys i really like this almost enough to give it a 4
|
| |
what the deal with the cover this is hilarious
|
| |
@SeaAnemone
"yeah because saying it's Weezer's best album in a decade is really indicative of its quality lol" - yeah, it kind of is actually since a decade puts us pre-green album.
"idk it's pretty simple" - i think you're confusing simple with simplistic.
|
| |
lol Cuomo sounds so much like Raneri at the end of Ruling Me.
|
| |
Still don't know what to rate this baby. maybe a 3.5 or 4. Still can't believe I enjoyed this.
"Take it easy, Diamond Eyes and Option Paralysis were bigger surprises."
wut? I was pretty much thinking they were going to be awesome. Didn't surprise me that they were.
|
| |
Really digging Brave New World right now.
|
| |
not bad, a step back in the right direction from raditude
|
| |
I'm still in kind of a state of shock that they put out a good record
|
| |
Yeah same here, it exceeded my expectations drastically. I lost faith in this band and then what do you know?
|
| |
This is just so much damn dun to listen to.
|
| |
So which was a bigger/better surprise: this or 'Recovery'?
|
| |
This because no one in their right mind ever thought Weezer had a good album coming. Eminem just needed to get off the drugs
It's definitely a few steps in the right direction, but a return to form? Hell no.
|
| |
Ironic that one of their silliest album covers turns to be some of the best music they've produced.... can't judge an album by it's art.
|
| |
:')
|
| |
Reviewing this for the school newspaper for the sole purpose of having the cover in there.
|
| |
Does this album have anything to do with Lost? I know it's a stupid question, but I'm on season 5 now and I lept for joy when I saw the album cover.
|
| |
Haha I no longer feel dumb for loving Weezer. I like it a lot.
|
| |
god damnit rivers i kept my faith through red and raditude and finally lost it when I heard memories and then you start trying.
Anyway, maladroid>this>green=red>>>>>make believe>>>>>>>>>raditude
I'm not even gonna compare it to blue and pink though, cause honestly, most of their demos from '93-'96 are better than everything they've done since
|
| |
