Besides the crappy breakdown I really like this.
| |
Not gonna lie, it's a sick song. Way different from anything they've previously done.
| |
is it just me, or does this shit sound just like As I Lay Dying? musically i mean.
| |
Yeah it seems like they moved away from the shitty BMTH style to a more structured sound
| |
that breakdown wasn't too bad
| |
yea iv'e listened to it a few times, this is exactly a As I Lay Dying song, and the breakdown wasn't too bad but ive seen these guys live and they were straight ass, but ill check their new cd out to see what direction their goin this time around.
| |
as if they couldn't get any more generic lol
| |
Terrible
| |
^ Lies
| |
AILD does average metalcore better though
| |
That song was pretty bad.
| |
I was listening to Throats before I cut to that. bad trade
| |
Haters gonna hate
| |
song wasn't bad. i'll probably check the album when it comes out.
| |
awful lol
| |
Loved it.
| |
Pretty cool I suppose.
| |
I stopped Blacklisted for this?
Goddamnit.
| |
Meh.
| |
Song was better than my expectations, but did they always have clean vocals, I don't remember hearing them on the previous album.
| |
Meh it was aight, needs more catchy hooks like We Came as Romans to be better but still only descent at best imho.
| |
there were only tiny snippets of clean vocals in the first one. I'm pretty sure Architect and A Dance With Aera Cura have singing in.
| |
It's definitely more prominent on this song, but then again I only listened to that first album once and then never after that.
| |
Yeah absolutely. I like their style, the melodeath riffing, just the way they scatter breakdowns pisses me off.
| |
good tune
| |
the chorus is so damn catchy
| |
it really is.
| |
As I Lay Dying sucks though, If this song is a rip off of AILD then they did AILD better than AILD
| |
I also agree with the ending breakdown not being too great
| |
I like this a lot.
| |
This is pretty generic, like all their other material.
Also the worst band I've ever seen live.
| |
hm, says parkway drive fan
| |
@xxkillwwithasmile
i saw the with after the burial and terror, they sucked soooooooo bad it was ashame, the local band was better than they were
| |
It wasn't that bad, the vocals do nothing for me though and the breakdown at the end practically threw away the momentum the band spent the whole song building up.
| |
Awesome. . . really like this band
| |
Bad band.
| |
Sounded pretty good, nice riffing. The breakdown was pretty good at the end, not anything super impresssive, the riffing was the highlight.
| |
Once considered seeing them live, guess it's good that I didn't spend the 15 to do it.
| |
ending breakdown was meh
but the rest of the song was surprisingly good
| |
band sucks so wont bother.
| |
that vocalist is so fucking good. it might be a generic scream but his tone is perfect and his range, phenomenal.
| |
Wait, this isn't Forsaken by As I Lay Dying?!???!!
| |
if their music was REALLY great, perhaps i could forgive the crappy name
| |
Yeah, Crowing51, I saw them on the same tour. It was just...I don't even know, man. Straight soggy ass.
| |
Fuck...this band would have potential if they stopped being so generic. I could shit out more original riffs. And 'sspedding' you need to hear some real riffage if you're impressed with this simple, never-ever-leave-the-key-of-C type of riffing. There's too much to be done musically that they're simply not even trying and it's sad. They, like hundreds of other metalcore bands, need to get out of this "metalcore by the book" mentality and write something worth the praise they will ultimately get for this mediocre (at best) album.
| |
Well to be honest machinist they did that with their first album and I liked a couple of the songs on that. Nothing more though so I didn't really lavish it in praise, if this is the same then it will get the same treatment. Fair comment on the melo-death riffing, it is pretty basic just I don't normally listen to true melodic death metal like Dark Tranquility. It was probably brought into metalcore best by Darkest Hour in Undoing Ruin and I guess I'm a sucker for old As I Lay Dying and the odd song which consists of pure cookie cutter melodeath riffs. How about you recommend something good for me?
| |
as i lay dying is an awesome band,
if they're being compared to them then they are improving.
| |
Pretty tight and heavy stuff. Love the lead/rhythm combo attack. Agreed it sounds like ABR and AILD. Good company.
| |
Not as good as I had hoped
| |
I too love Darkest Hour, they're prolly one of my all time favs, I just tend to favor more original stuff nowadays considering the huge wave of extremely sub-par-regurgitated-crap metalcore bands that have arose in the last 4 years. Some are good, but most are bad. I wish more metalcore bands would go the path of paving new ground. For instance, if you were to compare the recent albums by The Crimson Armada and Miss May I, you'd say "holy shit, same band".
| |
has no one ever noticed that this band has always ripped of AILD? listen to the beginning of AILD's Distance is Darkness and MMI's Architect. pratically identical parts there. and from what i have heard AILD got this band signed. I dont doubt this band sucks ass live. they are a much more "cookie cutter" version of AILD. they have many more breakdowns as well. they have made a few songs i have enjoyed, but never anything spectacular. i expected the same from this.
| |
im sorry but AILD and miss may I besides a few guitar parts do NOT sound alike.
anyway, vocals are pretty sick. I liked the first album but the first two songs were definitely the highlight, after that it kind of got boring. Still, they are a young band and it was a solid release for a first record. i like the direction they are going, pretty stoked for the new album.
