2010 brings the release of "Nevermind The Bombings, Here's Your Six Figures", the second alleged release from the band. "Nevermind..." is a spastic and violent four song explosion that brings to mind the bygone days of the mid-1990's "screamo" sub-genre.

Aren't they taking a major risk by continuing to use the name and logo? The actual United Nations
shouldn't care, but they might and already told the band to stop.

Edit: Oh, wait, I forgot. The worst that the United Nations might do is put sanctions on the band.

http://www.deathwishinc.com/listennow/launch/69/ is the stream address. I'd change it but since I'm on chrome it would fuck the formatting in the ass.

EP's good, vocals are too low in the mix. Pretty sure that Geoff Rickley is doing the singing and skramz on this one

Who are the guest vocals on Nevermind? That scream is so familiar. I realize Geoff does and has always done the singing and screams, but there is another person singing on this track.

Daryl did all the screams on the first UN record. Rickley more or less said it without saying it http://www.altpress.com/features/206.htm

I like how you can tell the difference between when Geoff and Daryl are skrammin on this, aka not 1000% saturation of distortion.

StrizzMatik

I don't think Daryl is on the EP whatsoever. It's definitely Geoff doing both on this and it rules hard.

The band has been doing a little game on Twitter for people to guess who's in the band. One dude apparently got all the members right. So it looks like the lineup is, at least, currently:

Geoff Rickly - vocals, guitar
Ben Koller - drums
Lukas Previn - guitar
Ryan Bland - vox
Jonah Bayer - bass

I agree, I've held the position that Daryl has never done any vocals. Any true Thursday fan will know this, but do you have any idea who that is on Nevermind at :54 and 1:18?

"Nobody thought this was the 10", in fact it says it's a 7" on the Deathwish site... thanks for the enlightenment though brah..."

Uhh?

He said:

"You can only listen to Pity Animal as Pity Animal is the only song in the EP"

"well i remember Geoff Rickley saying in an interview the EP was just one song. Maybe i misunderstood"

So I said:

"Their 10" theyre releasing is one long song BTW, not this EP."

I think that was genuinely enlightening.

strizz: this, the full length and the upcomming 10" were all recorded in the same sessions. Geoff has been talking about this EP by name since like 2008.

Fairly sure the next LP was as well.

Dammit, I'm not going to be able to completely appreciate this until I have the lyrics. UN lyrics are so bitingly intelligent.

StrizzMatik

Ok red, but despite that fact, you can clearly tell it's Geoff doing the singing and screams on the EP compared to the self-titled where it's definitely Palumbo. The differences in the styles and timbres are pretty obvious.

It could be a while until we see Dark Side Of The UN. If I recall the band lost a lot of their music in a hard drive crash, which is why UN Plays Pretty For A Bunch Of Fucking Babies (the "Kidz Bop" version of the self-titled that should have released with the limited run of the same) never released, so it's possible DSOTUN may need to be re-recorded. They're also working on a new 7" called Stole The Past, Fucked The Future which might be out next year.

Whatevs. New fucking GJ is what I want, really...

I doubt the real UN even cares about this band. And if they do, they most likely would never reach a decision on what miniscule sanction to place on the band due to the fact that the nations would argue for a couple of decades.

witchxrapist

Really?

Because the real UN sued this band and asked them to change their name and logo.
