Isis Break Up

2010-05-18 by StreetlightRock | 154 Comments
Post-metal giants Isis have called it quits.

In a statement released on their blog, the band announced the break up following their upcoming tour with The Melvins. Says the band:

“Simply put, ISIS has done everything we wanted to do, said everything we wanted to say. In the interest of preserving the love we have of this band, for each other, for the music made and for all the people who have continually supported us, it is time to bring it to a close. We've seen too many bands push past the point of a dignified death and we all promised one another early on in the life of the band that we would do our best to ensure ISIS would never fall victim to that syndrome.”

the last time Neurosis did something duh (2007).

when as they put it have said everything that needs to be said (musically).
they were talking about themsleves, not the genre as a whole. Neurosis have been releaseing unique album after unique album since 1993 so as long they are still around, not everything has been said [/fanboy]

i'm a fan of both bands. its possible. the early Isis ep's are superb and Oceanic is a classic of the genre. Their last two records were a bit lacking but they've done enough to be granted a lot of respect, and kudos to them for not opting to carry on when their hearts weren't in it.
