Don't mind it but they don't really belong on tours with Oh, Sleeper & Greeley Estates anymore. They're sorta doin the Thrice thing it seems like.
|
| |
Don't mind the song but it's def not anything to wow about. I am glad these guys stuck it out though...
Birth Eater is quite an album.
|
| |
hmm. different. but not bad. kinda original in his own way.
we'll see what the whole EP brings .)
oceana normally don't fail to impress.
|
| |
birth eater was legit. this isn't to cool but i'll still probably pick up the new album
|
| |
I was pretty bored throughout, gonna check this out anyway though.
|
| |
What was that? Birth Eater was kick ass, awesome catchy choruses, sick screaming. None of that in this song. Wasn't bad, but wasn't what I (and possibly other fans) expected/ wanted.
|
| |
to much "ocean" in band names
|
| |
Very interesting, I like the twang.

Summed up my thoughts well.

this ^

The band then benchmarked their career on the post-hardcore version of "The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me", with their follow up album, "Birth.Eater"
anyone else ever thought about this comparison? i know i haven't
|
| |
these guys didnt break up?
|
| |
They did break up, and then they reunited.
|
| |
ah! knew their first singer from way back when. when they kicked him out i stopped listening to them.
|
| |
Birth.Eater is really overrated here imo, it's more consistent than The Tide but it really doesn't have as many stand out tracks. The Family Disease is great though.
|
| |
Mother Love yo
|
| |
Sounds like a failed attempt at As Cities Burn-esque progression. and I do emphasize FAILED... I'd rather this band break up and ACB return.
|
| |
That was rather disappointing. I'm not diggin this 'As Cities Burn' direction...
|
| |
same... I'm not liking this track. Too bad, I was really excited on new material
|
| |
sounds more like mew, i love these guys, really nice dudes, all for the new direction.
|
| |
At least this is better than tides
|
| |
Isn't the EP just b-sides from Birth.Eater?
Also, song is good.
|
| |
song is awesome
|
| |
Song is good, but Birth.Eater is sooooo much better
|
| |
Usually the singles from Oceana aren't as good as the other tracks, so we'll see.
|
| |
not really my thing
|
| |
I actually enjoyed this more than the bands previous work. I liked Birth Eater and Tides ok, but I just felt like they could have done better. I'm interested to see where they go with the new sound.
|
| |
They really sound like a whole different band here
|
| |
At least this is an EP, so if it sucks it's an excuse for experimentation
|
| |
Hopefully they don't stray to far from Birth.Eater....we got Sights & Sounds and the new Ocean album to satisfy our Thrice cravings.
|
| |
Ehh.
|
| |
ugh
|
| |
great band.
|
| |
^
this.
|
| |
People are expecting too much of the same thing. This band is evolving, and they're doing it well. And not to mention this album is supposedly only B-Sides at that. Good for experimentation.
I like this song a lot.
|
| |
Evolving into turd.
|
| |
I think that if a band changes their sound THIS much, it's not the same band anymore. New name, same people. This isn't EVOLUTION, or maturity for that matter. Evolution means taking what you're known for and making improvements upon it. This is just a completely new sound (not a bad one, but just not OCEANA...)

| |
Hello As Cities Burn
I dig it to be honest...a nice mix-up
|
| |
THE EP LEAKED AND I LOVE IT SOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSOSO MUCH
|
| |
EP is really good, but! His vocals are repetitive and not as enjoyable as they were on Birth.Eater.
Verdict:
Birth.Eater rapes Clean Head...but its nice to see them tryin to change and not just re-release the same album over again and agian.
|
| |
Because the vocals were really varied on Birth.Eater, amirite?
Clean Head can't really be compared to Birth.Eater, though Clean Head is better on first listen, definitely. And it's a great progression.
|
| |
No the vocals weren't all that varied, but the harsh vocals at least gave us a break from his droning vocals.
Yea its definitely a great progression.
I'd love to see them mix both styles on the next album. If they just completely shift to this new style I'll be sosososososo disappointed.
|
| |
Actually, a mixture of the HxC-ness and this new Proggy style would be a-maaaaaaazing
