Maps and Atlases have announced that their debut full-length album, Perch Patchwork, will be released June 29 2010 on Barsuk Records. They have also posted a song from the album titled "Solid Ground" that can be downloaded here:

yea their music seems to get less technical with every release. kinda wish it was still as technical and fast paced as trees, swallows. new music is still amazing though.

I liked their mathy stuff better. This track was still great, but it won't scratch that indie-math itch like their older stuff did.

i find it far better than anything they've done before. it's like they stopped trying to be technical for the sake of it and are becoming something more than a "fun math-rock band".

Yeah, but they were really fucking good at being a fun math rock band. And I never saw it as technicality just because, their stuff was always tasteful and catchy, and they had enough subtlety to be worth repeated listens even after the initial shock wore off. Tree, Swallows, Houses was pretty much pure joy in an indie-rock album.
