Supernova Announce Tour

2006-08-27 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 11 Comments
Rock group Supernova have announced the first North American concert dates in promotion of their debut as-yet-untitled record, according to the group's official website.

The tour kicks off with a warm-up show in New York City's The Joint on New Year's Eve, before the tour proper begins on January 16 in Hollywood, FL and ends a month and a half later on Long Beach California.

Supernova was formed by Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee in July of this year after he was approached by CBS' Rock Star reality TV franchise with the idea of auditioning singers on live TV. Ex-Guns N Roses guitarist Gilby Clarke and former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted were soon added to the line-up; Clarke and Lee had previously teamed up in May as part of an all-star KISS tribute group at VH1's Rock Honors, a group which also contained Rob Zombie and Slash.

Supernova's as-yet-untitled album is scheduled for release on November 21. The band will enter the studio with producer Butch Walker, who co-wrote and produced the hit single 'Good Times' with Lee last summer, as soon as a singer is chosen. There are currently six contestants and five weeks remaining on the show.

Those tour dates can be read in full at Supernova's official tour site:

scott ian was in the kiss tribute thing too, right? anyways shows like this interest me, but then I lose interest when I figure out that they're doing 2:15 renditions of REM's Everybody Hurts. Seriously, butchering songs is painful.

I'm kind of looking forward to this. I've been following the show for a while, its pretty good to watch. I'm hoping that Toby wins, but I wouldn't mind Storm or Lukas either.

Hope Lukas wins, storm would just be weird. she shud just stick to her nude pics hehe.

As for them being from diff genres, they said that this is not a metal band. they're gonna play like fun rock. for chillin out to on a summer day.
