Underwhelming =(

Somebody brought the (nu-metal) cat out of the bag. Harsh vocals suck, decent riffs, and lacking chorus. Meh, album probaly won't be good. They maxed with Tryptich and began to decline from there.
|
| |
^Strongly disagree, Storm the Gates of Hell far surpasses Triptich imo.
|
| |
*Triptych.

I do agree. Right on the money here.
|
| |
First part, nah, Storm the Gates wasn't that great but nothing there sounded as bad as this.
|
| |
I look at their singer and I see Becoming the Archetype.
|
| |
wow, my low expectations were net with this song. oh well
|
| |
It's time for them to hang it up with Demon Hunter. I say bring back Training For Utopia.. hell even Focal Point ..
|
| |
i see that they have gone in a new direction, and that direction is nu-metal via 2001
|
| |
i thought that song was friggin sweet, much better than most of Storm the Gates. i'm excited for this
|
| |
song was bad.
|
| |
song was typical Demon Hunter: underachieving verses, but a catchy chorus . . they could be great if they just used a little bit of any sort of musical technicality in their songs
|
| |
Song was meh
|
| |
When will this guy learn that his screams fucking suck.
|
| |
That was pretty bad. Sigh, another release that's going into the "disappointments" folder for 2010
|
| |
-When will this guy learn that his screams fucking suck.
you should check out his older band before DH, Training For Utopia, his screams were incredible.
|
| |

Never, cause they don't?
I won't defend the song, though.
|
| |

Yes. However, Jason Wisdom >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ryan Clark
This almost sounds like a Mudvayne b-side.
|
| |
*cross fingers and hopes for the rest of the album to be better*
|
| |
Yes. However, Jason Wisdom >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ryan Clark
Darn tootin'
|
| |
Especially Terminate Damnation era Jason.
|
| |
Not even yo, he kills just as well in Dichotomy.
|
| |
Well, I can't disagree, but like I said in my review *wink wink* his highs are higher and his lows are lower. Jason is a beast though in any case.
|
| |
Definitely. Oh yeah, I remember that review, the one I negged like a biiiiiiitch
|
| |
Ima just go cry in a corner... :'(
|
| |
Liked the song a little but scared about the album itself.
|
| |
it's aight
|
| |
I like this quite a bit, but I always thought the only good album they've released was their debut - the rest is shit.
|
| |
*too
|
| |
*Oh right
|
| |
People should be shot for enjoying these guys. Lined up and SHOT!
|
| |
Sounds like fun, but first I'll KICK their FACES!
|
| |
feels like a psychosocial slipknot moment without even a guitar solo.
|
| |
Song sounds good but I'm not sure how the rest of the album turned out.
|
| |
No matter how band Demon Hunter sounds, they will be infinitely better than Slipknot.
Anyways, I can't urge you people enough to check out Don and Ryan Clark's older band before Demon Hunter, their first album, Plastic Soul Impalement, it will just eviscerate your ears. His screams are so painful and raw and the music is just as chaotic.
Their second album, Throwing A Wrench Into The American Music Machine was the perfect melding of heavy metal and electronics.
You should really check them out.
|
| |
so lame
|
| |
Bleh sounds like their lower quality work, I like a few of their tracks like "Thorns" "Not I" and "I Play Dead". His screams are annoying, he has a good singing voice though.
|
| |
its a decent song people and collapsing was awesome..just because you think one song is bad doesn't mean the entire fucking album is gonna blow
|
| |
Most of time, it does. Since this is the song they are choosing to represent the whole album.
|
| |
yup
generally artists or labels choose the best or most media friendly song to post first to try and hook listeners into buying the final product
so essentially it usually does, though exceptions can happen
i havent liked this band since high school
|
| |
It's a shame how Demon Hunter never leaves its comfort zone. This sounds like a rehash of Summer of Darkness and The Triptych. There is NOTHING new about this song. It's like they're not even trying anymore.
However, although I have never been a fan of the harsh vocals, it does sound like they have somewhat improved. It doesn't sound like an amalgamation between Corey Taylor, Robb Flynn, Phil Anselmo, and Bruce Fitzhugh.
I just wish that this song was longer. It feels like they could have done SO much more with this song. It feels too short, it might have been better if they took it outside the four-minute time frame.
|
| |
^^^^^How can you muster up that much to write about this band?
|
| |
@Wizard: I don't know. :P
I just thought it was weird that Ryan Clark sounds SOOOOOO much like Bjorn Strid on "Collapsing", I was just wondering if maybe they had picked up some influence from Soilwork. You know, to make them sound better. I guess I was wrong.
|
| |
well considering collapsing was cool and is way more user friendly, i'd say because it was the first song released that the cd will sound more like that
|
| |
@Wizard: I don't know. :P
Hahahaha thanks for understanding my light-hearted-ness ; ).
