I'm not sure what to think of this.
Anybody have any thoughts?
| |
Could be good, but the prospect of Emo-Metal scares me too much
| |
well the other two fob guys have always been into metal so this isn't that shocking
| |
It depends. Super groups in general have a tendency to suck; on the other hand, this is a group of guys who are used to playing three VERY different brands of rock, and it seems so ludicrous that it just might work.
First thing's first, though: before judging the band, we gotta hear some music.
| |
^Agreed
| |
Yes, I definitely agree. It's still a pretty interesting mix though. I wonder what the end result will sound like.
| |
make or break here
| |
The boys from Anthrax obviously seek a new outlet because they don't have a man on vocals.
| |
Should be at least decent if Stump and Wentz aren't around.
but the prospect of Emo-Metal scares me too much
FOB are not emo.
| |
Thin Lizzy is so hXc.
| |
wow, i really want to hear this
| |
will suck ass
| |
keith buckley has a super man crush on fall out boy. also keith buckley has never done any wrong (musically). this will prob be good.
| |
not sure if want
| |
shit
| |
laceye's avatar ftw!
| |
I'm interested solely due to the involvement of Buckley and Ian, but I'm interested nonetheless.
| |
fall out boy was pretty heavy for like 15-20 seconds during "Thriller" on Infinity on High
| |
Anthrax and FOB? We are doomed.
| |
wow i want to hear A Great Reckoning now...sounds really promising. i'll be looking forward to it.
| |
Not looking forward to this, but I'll listen regardless.
| |
Think I'm gonna kill myself now guys.
| |
I'm scared.
| |
this could possibly be somewhat interesting possibly.
| |
other than pete wentz fall out boy seem pretty legit so ithink this might be pretty good
| |
niceeeee
| |
Considering Andy Hurley used to be in Racetraitor, a metal band, I imagine this would at the very least be worth looking into.
| |
Actually, a couple of the dudes from Fall Out Boy were in a pretty decent metalcore band out in the burbs here before they got big in FOB.
Also, John Walker (bassist for Panic at the Disco) used to be in a pretty good band from the Chicago burbs called The 504 Plan -- kinda old-school Thrice or Rise Against sounding stuff.
| |
Hopefully Keith writes most of the music/lyrics
| |
Andy Hurley plays Meshuggah songs during drums solos
thats good enough for me
| |
I don't believe you
| |
Andy is hardcore as fuck, or at least was. He used to be in Since By Man, who were awesome. But this sentence made me laugh: "We have this song called ‘A Great Reckoning’ that I swear to God, this song could be on any Thin Lizzy record"
| |
Scene kids making metal always sucks ass.
| |
fall out boy are good
| |
keith buckley has yet to steer me wrong. i have high hopes for this.
| |
Might listen for the lulz
| |
I absolutely hate Fall Out Boy, but I hope this is really good...because why would anyone HOPE that music would suck?
| |
Another reason Anthrax shouldn't be one of the big four.
| |
This should be...interesting...
| |
I despise Fall Out Boy, and I seriously doubt this will be any good, but judging by the comments, these two FoB members at least aren't as bad as Wentz and Stump, so maybe there's a chance this won't suck.
| |
Their drummer used to be in like a legit Chicago hardcore band before Fall Out Boy. So perhaps this band will be a way for them to bury their (shit)goddamn pop tendencies...oughta be interesting...staying tuned
| |
I...uh...wait...what?!?
| |
if this is the next cool thing on sputnik i quit
| |
Eh, I am a gambler.
| |
Andy Hurley is from WI, which is pretty cool. Also, everyone from FOB minus that one dude (stumpy) have all played in some hardcore/metalcore bands, so I'm not doubting this to be good. Plus, Keith Buckley is tight.
| |
i actually have faith in this. the guitar player isn't bad, and the drummer is really good. it will be nice to see them play some more complex stuff.
| |
Not sure if it'll be any good but I'll listen for sure
| |
they dont care what you think as long as its about them
| |
awesome! i cant wait!!
| |
Scott Ian just lost some metal points.
| |
Dunno. Could be pretty damn good...
| |
terrific pun by academy right there
| |
hmm, this is sorta interesting, especially given it was Wentz or Stump that were tryin' to pull this off. Go Scott Ian, I'll prolly check this out when it comes out
| |
has potential to be a complete disgrace to all that is metal, but has a chance of being decent.
lets just wait and see how it turns out
| |
will be awesome
| |
The only pleasant outcome of this situation may be the demise of Fall Out Boy.
| |
fall out boy is good so nah
| |
if it's good enough for Keith Buckley it's good enough for me.
| |
This will be win, mark my words.
| |
Haha.
| |
this sucks my weenie
| |
O cool the two members of Fall Out Boy that nobody fucking knows. Buckley and Ian getting together should be interesting though.
| |
This sounds awesome, I'm really excited.
Any naysayers are pussbags who saved up for the susan boyle album
| |
Open mind.
| |
This wouldn't be anywhere near as impressive as it is with Scott Ian backing the FOB guys up . Interested to hear it.
| |
I meant that as in if Scott Ian weren't involved it wouldn't be as impressive.
| |
You're all dumbfucks. This has a 97.8% chance of slaying.
| |
scott ian (lol) and fall out boy (lol) = lol
| |
be warned out-casts!
you will feel the wrath of codex!
i support the church burnings of 91.
and know black magic!
| |
they took the good members of FoB so this might not suck
| |
I love older FoB and this will be worth a spin.
| |
Remember, these guys were all in hardcore bands before (except for Patrick who was more into R&B tunes).
I think it's got potential, as a real metal band or at the very least metalcore.
The only bad part is that Joe sucks at guitar
| |
curious for everytime i die contribution
| |
this could be really good. Keith Buckley rules, and some FOB dudes are pretty into hardcore.
| |
Hmmm
| |
i will listen to this
but scott ian is an idiot
| |
Can't wait
| |
After watching a drum solo by the drummer, I keep hope alive for this.
| |
will be interesting
| |
Joe might be playing bass actually...
| |
ahahahaha
thats all i have to say
| |
"People think of Fall Out Boy and they think of Pete Wentz and Patrick. These two guys, man, they’re ****ing hardcore dudes. "
made me lol
| |
being on ANY thin lizzy record isnt necessarily a compliment
| |
This will suck, supergroups love themselves too much, I see this being average at best
| |
Abomination!!!
| |
LMAO
| |
I'm starting to believe the world really will end in 2012......wtf could be next?
| |
fail.
| |
i'm actually all for this, cuz when you think of fall out boy, you think shitty poppy music, and i personally hate them too, but sum 41 gave metal a try on their 2004 album "chuck" and it worked damn well. people still think of sum 41 as a shitty poppy band, but they are far better than that and i know that cuz i actually gave their metal a chance instead of writing it off as sucky, so i'm all for these guys trying it out.
| |
well I checked the project and it was good but not great , thanks to god that the drummer and the guitar player of that band are playing something more decent , the music of fall out boy was a crime against human race , stump and wentz shouldn't record an album again or many ears will bleed
| |
This actually sounds like it might maybe perhaps possibly be good.
| |
