Silverchair are still together? cool. I might check this out, might not. I quite liked some of their early work but 'Diorama' sucked hard

i saw them at the Great Escape festival earlier this year. they were awful, and they played a few new songs, also awful. i have like zero expectations here.

I liked Diorama, really strong songwriting, some good sounds.

Its a shame they weren't good at the Great Escape, I hadn't actually heard how they played until now. Their dvd provides a really strong live show.

My expectations aren't too high, but I hope to be pleasantly surprised.

I'm midly interested in how this will turn out. Mostly just because they were one of my favourite bands when I was growing up though.

Daniel Johns is an amazing songwriter. I can't wait to see where he goes with the new album.

They 've changed again! I was in a Silverchair concert in April and I can tell you that the guys are coming up with great new stuff!

I hope their new sound is a lot more raw. Maybe with a Steve Albini touch to it or something.....Exciting!!!!!

The album will be finally released in March/April of 2007. Can't wait!

Here's the situation now: Silverchair have finished recording their fifth album named officially "Young Modern" inside 2006 and now they are in the mixing stage which commences in January. The first single will be "Straight Lines" and it will be released on the Internet in Jan 29. The release date of Young Modern is March 31. From the live songs that I have listened to, it seems that the new staff is awesome and of course much better than Diorama. I guess that the first single will become a big worldwide hit!
