2010 Blindside Album

2009-09-16 by K. Prince | 18 Comments
Swedish post-hardcore quartet Blindside have plans to release their sixth studio album in the first half of 2010. Starting in September, the band will start recording with acclaimed producer Howard Benson to create what the band describes as "the result of 5 years of blindside writing new music."

The band continues: "The reason we have not informed you or anyone else what we've been up to lately is simple: we wanted to have something really great to announce. For the last 5 years it has been quite silent around this band. We haven't dissolved from the face of the earth, rather the opposite. [...] Due to a label dispute we were not able to release the album we had planned for 2007. The last two years we have focused on our family-life since we've spent the last 10 years being away on the road. Last year we had a band-meeting about the future of the band. We decided that either we

1. quit
2. make the best album of our career"

News is a tad old, but they start recording this month and a lot of users enjoy the band, so I thought I'd pitch in.

Great news!
I really liked alot of the Great Depression.
I'm pretty certain they have a masterpiece in them but I'm not keeping my hopes up.

This is good news. About A Burning Fire is an amazing album, and Silence is good too. (haven't heard The Great Depression yet though)

Well there's a typo I can't figure out. I liked "Sleepwalking," but I doubt this will be that good.

absolutely cant wait. one of my fav bands. hopefully they revisit some of their more hardcore roots because i always thought if they blended their new sound with their earlier sound they could come out with their best album yet.

Great news. I used to love these guys. I gave About a Burning Fire a spin for nostalgia the other day.

'Silence' is one of my favorite albums of all time. AABF is damn good as well. '...Depression'...not so much, but I'm going to remain hopeful.

this could be interesting. love Silence and AABF as well. if they can bring that sound back, this may just be awesome.

haha i love the way they describe the new album too: "the result of 5 years of blindside writing new music." So obvious it hurts.
