As usual, charts haven't yet updated

Other than the blindingly obvious it's a relatively quiet week

10.15.12
the new BATS album! Yes.

Can't wait for Sowing to take us to Anberlin.

New Anberlin actually rules. Not like "oh, 'Dark Is...' was pretty good but some people say it's meh". "Vital" is just undeniably awesome.

Anyway, this is a solid week.

Sowing
10.15.12
I'm on it guys i'm on it

Sowing
10.15.12
Also, I didn't think Taylor Swift was coming out until next week. Looks like I might have double work this week ;-)

Bloodbirds
10.15.12
The new Caribou/Daphni record is great. Anybody gonna review it ?

Yuli
10.15.12
SO MANY ALBUMS I NEED TO REVIEW, SIGH

FromDaHood
10.15.12
Can we all acknowledge how stupid it is that Taylor Swift's album comes out on a Monday? Big Machine baldly trying to boost first-week sales numbers.

Sowing
10.15.12
Boldly

And yeah it's dumb, just like her new album will be

Trebor.
10.15.12

Is anyone already planning to review Submotion Orchestra?

Because if not, then I'll take it.

Sowing
10.15.12
I wanted to but i'm never going to get around to it. Go for it.

SgtPepper
10.15.12
Oh, you would have done an awesome job with it. But thanks, Sowing.

Yuli
10.15.12
I've actually also been considering Submotion, been listening to it a ton in the last day. But Hernan, you claimed it here first so go for it if you wanna. =]

SgtPepper
10.15.12
Are you sure, I havent even heard it yet.
Plus, your better at reviewing electronica albums than I am. So if you want it, go for it, Jacob.

Sowing
10.15.12
God you guys. Where's the hatred?

Have a good old-fashioned contributor duel to see who is awarded the feature, like Adam Knott and I used to do when we were contribs (I still seethe when I think about how his joke Plain White T's review got the feature over mine).

It's much more entertaining and it gives us staff on our thrones in Olympus something to be amused by.

SgtPepper
10.15.12
lol. That would be cool. And when one of us wins we could comment in all caps "Are you not entertained?" -Russell Crowe style.

But in all seriousness, I love the band very much, but I'm not that versed in electronica. I'm confident in my writing, but I think Jacob would do the better job as he's reviewed several electronica artists.

Sowing
10.15.12
Submotion Orchestra isn't all electronic...they're heavily fused with jazz, which I know I've seen you review quite well.

SgtPepper
10.15.12
Oh yeah, I know. That's what attracted me to their music. I guess I'll review it then, seeing as how Jacob hasn't responded.

Yuli
10.16.12
I'm here, guys! Just went to a jazz concert on my college campus. Funny, considering the subject matter.

We can always have a good 'ol fashioned coin toss, Hernan! ;] i feel we're too polite to resolve this any other way.

A Fine Frenzy
Ben Gibbard

SgtPepper
10.16.12
You know what, you've mentioned that you've already listened to it quite a bit, so you're much more prepared than I am so you should review it. I havent even heard it yet.
Have it, mate. I'll get the next one.

SgtPepper
10.16.12
I'll instead take Dynfari – Sem Skugginn.

Yuli
10.16.12
Alright man, if you say so. I owe you one, alright? I'll make the review super-awesome on your behalf. =]

GiaNXGX
10.16.12
Good luck Omaha :] I thought Deviant. was going to review Submotion (though). How is the album by the way?

Yuli
10.16.12
It definitely lets loose a lot more than Finest Hour does. It's much more immediate and dancy, while still retaining the jazz influence that made their debut so great.

Deviant.
10.16.12
"but I'm not that versed in electronica."

Protip to get you started: stop calling it electronica ;)

Trebor.
10.16.12
He proved he's not versed in electronic, quite clever

SgtPepper
10.16.12
Electronic music, then. My apologies.

But yeah, you'll do the album justice, Jacob. I'm sure the review will rule.

Deviant.
10.16.12
Also Rudy, new Reso is just a teaser for his upcoming LP. One (decent but not great) track, and 4 remixes

greg84
10.16.12
I don't know why but albums I'm planning to review are hardly ever on these lists.

Hey Deviant.
The official release date on Dynfari's Sem Skugginn is on October 22nd, according to their facebook. Also, I havent been able to find a proper streaming or downloading site for the album. I've only been able to find 4/9 songs ont he album, so I cant write a review on it. So, sorry about that,
