Actually honestly don't see why this band is hated so much. The Open Door was alright, but Fallen was a pretty good album I thought and still think so people need to stop the hatin'.

I like the band and I like the last two albums, I just think they could have found someone better qualified with minimal effort. I nominate Steven Wilson.

Personally, the only Evanescence album I find good enough to warrant a decent amount of re spins is their Demo/first debut record "Origin" Without Ben Moody (as oversensitive as that guy is) the band became a sludgy mess on the Open Door, it had enough moments to make it a decent record but there wasn't a generous amount of actual "songs"

I find it funny how Lee's won this award as the groups chief songwriter was moody. You can feel his absence all over The Open Door, now all the group do is churn out angst with Terry Balsamo's chuga chug guitar lines. The Evanescence fan girls and boys are going to have a field day with this award status on wikipedia.

well, she does have a damn good voice (which has nothing to do with songwriting)...has anyone else noticed that she's a commenter on VH1's I Love the new Millennium? Just pathetic, never would've seen the day where you can't find music on MTV or VH1 (though its been going on for the past 9 years)

Blech. Evanescence = a radio-friendly crap version of Lacuna Coil which in turn is a crappy derivative of The Gathering. That nu-metal meets goth crap is possibly the worst music genre since metalcore.

Unless Amy Lee or Lacuna Coil rap or integrate groove and funk into their music they are not "nu metal". However both bands are pretty much dilute forms of such Symphonic Metal acts such as the Gathering as you conclude StrizzMatic, however Lacuna Coil has vastly improved with Karmacode (in terms of the departure of their sound) so I wouldn't start naming names just yet.
