Missed opportunity when he re-joined for the headline Trivium Get Bent.
|
| |
Greyson Nekrutman is taking over. At least for a little while.
|
| |
This will be a tough one to replace...
|
| |
wtf?!? terrible shame
|
| |
lmao
|
| |
he was a machine, but trivium haven't been good for 2 decades so its no huge loss.
|
| |
could it be.
Travis Smith set a comeback?
|
| |
"trivium haven't been good for 2 decades"
u high or what
|
| |
yeah ascendancy and shogun rule blah blah blah but this lineup was their peak
|
| |
seems like his playing will still be on the new lp next year... which has supposedly been finished for quite a while now
|
| |
That's a good way to round it off. Bent is peak and Trivium is peak and the last single is peak so the new albums are surely peak.
"yeah ascendancy and shogun rule blah blah blah"
Shogun was less than 20 years ago tho, so... wtf once again.
|
| |
Man ain't dead, but he must've said something. Guessing he wasn't very silent in the snow.
|
| |
Word is he got a new higher paid gig for a bigger act, but that's all speculation.
He has a young family to support and he may have been made an offer he couldn't turn down.
Having said that, the statements and wording so far have made this sound very sudden and out of nowhere, especially with the EP just around the corner.
Some big shoes to fill absolutely, his creativity and effortless playing was something to behold...but there are lots of incredible drummers out there.
I doubt the band will ever have a permanent drummer.
|
| |
Greyson is an incredible drummer, not worried in any way
|
| |
Yeah it seems they had the replacement lined up, and a very good one at that, so I'm sure this was planned and Alex probably wanted out a while ago
|
| |
It’s confirmed that Greyson is just a temp and is still with Sepultura.
|
| |
Wasn't Sepultura to cease activity some 2 years ago?
|
| |
Not sure. Haven’t been following Sepultura’s activity, but I was referring to this article.
https://lambgoat.com/news/49848/sepultura-release-statement-confirming-greyson-nekrutmans-return-following-trivium-announcement/?fbclid=PAVERFWANPzoNleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABp2gbPueBKx3K8UC-wLXB9C31D-mmU4UJE9GIYBZiiIs8V4LRjrayP0stjXuF_aem_om_j6nL7N_lmnXoJOsiNNw
|
| |
Okay, I mixed up the dates and forgot to account for the length of the farewell tour. They're gonna break up next year.
The question remains, who is going to claim the place behind the kit?
|
| |
Sounds like they killed another drummer
|
| |
Wouldn’t be surprised if they just stick with free lancers from here on out, but who knows.
|
| |
Having new drummers learn the material all the time must suck, they'll want a new permanent drummer, I guess
|
| |
"Word is he got a new higher paid gig for a bigger act, but that's all speculation."
i've seen this rumor too and i'm kinda not buying it. how many "bigger acts" than trivium are out there that would both a) seek out his particular skillset and b) pay him so well he'd so willingly jump ship after almost a decade? only realistic answers would be slipknot or a7x.
i mean who knows maybe we'll find out he's the live drummer for some huge pop/country act but that feels heavily unlikely to me.
in all likelyhood i'd bet its the same reason sergio left/got kicked from deftones... probably wanted to finally become a full member of the band (legally speaking) and be paid like it and the rest of the guys decided no.
|
| |
Not much to say other than he was an incredible drummer, and I wish for continued success for both him and Trivium.
|
| |
Bent was the best thing could happened to them, his drumming on The Sin and The Sentence were like blessing. So this gonna be tough era for Trivium
|
| |
Noooo this is terrible news, he breathed new life into them. He's gonna be hard to replace.
|
| |
Unfortunate. He was the best member.
|
| |
"It’s confirmed that Greyson is just a temp and is still with Sepultura."
I mean given that Sepultura's disbanding after their tour is over, I wouldn't be surprised if he does end up being Trivium's permanent drummer in the future
|
| |
I do hope his drumming is on the next album, cuz the next one without him will be Silence in the Snow quality if they don't get somebody good.
|
| |
yeah gonna need to check out greyson, hear he's an absolute phenom with apparently an extensive jazz background??? could be worse
saw clips of him playing with trivium at a festival already but they seemed to be playing all their simplest material. apparently only had 48hrs to learn the set lmao
|
| |
"I do hope his drumming is on the next album"
rumor on their subreddit is they have a 2026 lp in the can already which probably has bent's drumming on it (along with the ep coming later this month).
|
| |
Damn that really sucks, he was the best drummer they've had to date.
|
| |
Can't believe I saw the last show with Bent apparently. There was a two week gap between that festival and the Aftershock show they just did, so maybe they knew this was coming and planned ahead?
|
| |
Devastating news, I wish him and the band well.
|
| |
Huge loss, dude was an absolute machine on Sin and the Sentence. This band has the worst luck with drummers
I do hope his drumming is on the next album [2]
|
| |
I don't know this guy but I sure know Greyson, and this suddenly makes me interested in Trivium for the first time since *checks notes* Trespass America 2012?
|
| |
rumors are hes leaving to join as i lay dying
|
| |
Worst timeline rumor right there
|
| |
looks like as i lay dying just announced someone else as their drummer... thank fucking god
|
| |
that someone else being Tim Yeung. hope he got a big paycheck for it.
|
| |
"trivium haven't been good for 2 decades"
'u high or what"
I'm nit even that big of a fan if the band, but saying they aren't good for 20 years is fucking dumb.
|
| |
Hey be nice.
|
| |
Why? They weren't?
|
| |
They got Alex Rüdinger, Whitechapel's session drummer on Kin, for their upcoming tour and new album
|
| |
Dude's one of the best in the game
|
| |
Rudinger is freakishly talented.
|
| |
Sweet, amazing drummer. Dude seriously deserves a big gig like that as well
|
| |
Looks like he's just gonna be a tour/session drummer for now, but hopefully he'll be permanent
|
| |
