according to leaks new alb. will be out September 29th or somewhere around there. digging the singles which seem to be kicking back to FOREVER with industrial/nu-metal flourishes.

They’re pretty cool, but honestly I think I prefer most of the tracks to Underneath than these two. I don’t think this new record will top Underneath for me but that’s a high bar. Cool production tho
| |
I dig both of these songs. I'm happy and relieved they didn't go full WWEcore. It's interesting that they opted for a more raw production style compared to Underneath. I'm excited to hear more.
| |
Underneath was fucking jank so it's hard to believe this is even worse tbh
| |
hm not bad
| |
Blehhhh
| |
It's like Jami thinks his vocals are so good. They're kinda ass though.
| |
The pick scrapes they do in like every song these days are mad annoying. Djun djunna djunna wEEoo djunna djunna wEEoo. Man, I just miss tracks like Flowermouth. They will never be cool again. Just beatdown/mosh fodder riffs and all the tasteless bullshit in between.
| |
This makes me think of some of the lesser known nu-metal bands like Landmine Spring. That’s not a compliment.
| |
frui-TAY
| |
well at least it's not butt rock

Hyyyyyyyype new Godflesh, new Code Orange, now I need new Loathe and this year is GOAT
| |
This is like more adjacent to something I’d enjoy than their last album but still so far from the brilliance of the COK era
| |
yeah jaimie’s vox are butt-ass
| |
I actually surprisingly enjoyed those two tracks. Nothing phenomenal but decent.
| |
if they insisted on having a “main” vocalist why the fuck isn’t it Reba
| |
huh
boring. I really liked the sound of Underneath better.
| |
Not feeling the songwriting on these. Doesn’t do much for me, though i like that part before the breakdown on Grooming My Replacement. And this production is ass in a bad way
| |
bring back Adventures you cowards
| |
I'm with Treb, this band is buns. How can anyone take this try-hard tough guy bullshit seriously, it's fucking juvenile.
| |
Playing recycled fear factory riffs isn’t even tough it’s just music for people who wear jncos to push pit to
| |
Not bad. Sounds similar to something off Underneath.
| |
Jesus this boring and screams "Look at us we are HEAVY AND TOUGH". The songs are repetitive slam fests. I like kinda like one song by these guys and its whatever the one has Reba front and centre blees in the blur or something? I
| |
Shit went off the rails after I Am King really. The grunge tracks on Forever were the best part of that album. Then Underneath seemed so lackluster that I didn't listen to it. Bad NIN-core.
| |
Underneath is their masterpiece and I will die on this hill. I thought it was a really unique take on nu metal that was dedicated in creating a front-to-back experience. That focus on album structures is honestly my favorite aspect about all their albums, really. Even though these are more standard nu metal tracks I’m still interested in seeing how the new record plays in full
| |
Ya these two new songs are structurally boring as shit and practically a parody of what slam/hardcore kids think is tough. Paint by numbers "heavy". I'm sure they're all nice people too but when combined with the image they try so hard to maintain, it's a bit hard to take seriously in my 30s. Maybe I'd have thought this was the coolest bleeding edge shit if I was 21.
| |
Which ultra-tough WWE guy is gonna use one of these tracks as their walk in music?
| |
forever still their most goated release
| |
DavidYowi bless your soul!
And I get the general take, that this band sounds juvenile and forced with their tough guy image, but I don’t know… I’m 23 and know them (ltrly dont want to brag) since their first record and I was like what… 12?! So in all these years this band has kinda been like a big brother to me, who I’ll always root for and wish to succeed, even if some dubious decisions are made along the way (I actually enjoy the WWE tracks lmao but leaving Deathwish was a shame). But foremost every new release kept me excited and managed to blow my mind again and again, so me personally, I’m hyped :3
| |
First album will always be the best, but I've thoroughly enjoyed every album they've put out. They just seem to be adding more ass tracks on every successive release, seems like.
| |
Grooming My Replacement was pretty fun.
"They will never be cool again." [2]
