It's true... now more than ever, life is EXTREMELY Killing Joke-y.

I don't think I am ready, but geez I def know who they are. Not sure of a comparison but I umm I might be over selling something I didn't hear but I remember this bartender telling me about the dwarves, and I was all I am not sure if I am ready. Also I meant to pass out some hours ago and PC things happened.

A question mark just materialised above my head.
|
| |
I guess I just felt like Killing Joke was one of those bad ass bands you wouldn't tell everyone about. I'm tired and wanted to sleep earlier. But you usually don't go up to someone in public and say hey have you heard the latest *insert lesser known metal band here*
|
| |
Heard a minute sounded fast and cool. It's 5am here.
|
| |
Love this. Incredible band.
|
| |
i bet i can guess how this sounds before clicking lol
i'd be happy to be wrong but imho post-Outside the Gate they have written the same song 300 times
|
| |
that said, incredible band [2]
|
| |
Never heard this band before now. I think i always assumed it was a thrash band for some reason. Any recommendations on where to start listening or should i just start from the beginning? Any advice would be much appreciated!

"killing joke" for the fierce post-punk
"night time" for the post-punk that actually makes it into the charts
"brighter than a thousand suns" for the goth
90s stuff for the industrial rock, couldn't name an album in particular
|
| |
Thank ye! That all sounds great, so im gonna take a listen. Always been interested in goth but haven’t ever gotten deep into it by any means.

"90s stuff for the industrial rock, couldn't name an album in particular"
'Pandemonium' from 1994, IIRC, is great..
@MoM: I got into them through 2003's second s/t album. I consider myself lucky in that sense, as I still maintain that it's a fantastic record to be introduced with (and a fantastic record in general).

| |
Oooh, thanks! Giving it a shot!
|

we live in a society
|
| |
Yeah the lyrics are a little cringe but song is decent.
|
| |
I fucking love me some Killing Joke.
|
| |
me too, though I haven't listened to their last two albums because I guess was getting the impression that I wouldn't love them as much
and yeah I'm cool with this song, but it does seem pretty par-for-the-course for them at this point...
the world better fucking end soon or boy is Jaz's face gonna be red
|
| |
cool song!
|
| |
pretty generic 1984/real world lyrics but the song fucking slaps
|

This band RULES above all others. Always amazing live. Over 60 years old and they barely take breath between songs for 90 minutes. Flawless every time. (They were a little bored opening for Tool) See them in a club show if you get the chance. Any musicians reading this may have the same experience seeing them, like ' Damn! We need to get our act together.' They are relentless and powerful live, like a freight train...except with synth harmonies.

Killing Joke - The Death And Rescurrection Show (Need For Speed Underground 2 Soundtrack)
Anyone else remembers the band from that game?
|

Song is cool. Haunting vibes.
