New Overkill LP, April 14th

2023-01-27 by Fernando Alves STAFF | 11 Comments
Iconic thrashers Overkill have shared a new single, 'The Surgeon', from their upcoming twentieth album, Scorched, out April 14th through Nuclear Blast. You can stream it below.

"It's not aggression for the sake of aggression," explains vocalist Bobby 'Blitz' Ellsworth, "there are a lot of different elements on the record. To me, it's more heavy metal, and less of an outright thrash record. There's a hell of a lot of melody on it. We are what we are and we've known what we are for a long fuckin' time. To be able to remain identifiable but still do something that's different at this point in our careers is fuckin' exciting for the band".

Scorched was mixed by Colin Richardson / Chris Clancy (assistant engineer) and mastered by Maor Appelbaum.

Tracklist:
1. Scorched
2. Goin' Home
3. The Surgeon
4. Twist of the Wick
5. Wicked Place
6. Won't be Comin Back
7. Fever
8. Harder They Fall
9. Know Her Name
10. Bag o' Bones

Blitz is by far the best metal band spokesman, he should be teaching communication skills for a fee.

Track is (surprisingly) solid.

I'm digging this! Hoping I can catch them live again. I feel like in a live setting these guys are the best of the bunch when it comes to the thrash vets. Stoked

chuckled harder than I should have

I'll listen later; they went on a hot streak from Ironbound-White Devil Armory but overall meh, last album was pretty boring, good on them for always putting stuff out though
