New Sadistik Forest Track

Finnish death metallers Sadistik Forest released a new track, 'Mandragore', from their upcoming EP Obscure Old Remains, out May 28th, via Transcending Obscurity Records.

Band comments: "In many ways the release titled as Obscure Old Remains is a special and unique recording for us. First of all, this is the first release with our original guitarist Jarkko Lahtinen recording with us. Also, it will be the last with Vesa's drums in it. A watershed, if you will.

As an EP is a perfect spot to be a bit experimental, we took a slightly different route with this one, as we have done with our previous releases. As we have been making a bit of an reputation as a live band, it was always a dream to record live in studio one day. To see how it would come out. When V. Santura of Triptykon recommended us this beautiful studio in Kuopio, namely Studio 33, mainly known as a recording spot of Watain, the plan started to form. It has separate recording booths, so we could ram this on tape in full live environment. To emphasise this, the music was also written a bit more old school in mind. On Obscure Old Remains you will hear maybe more of our primary influences - early Cannibal Corpse, Carcass, early Atheist and Darkthrone.

On our forthcoming fourth album SF will surely think of something new and different again. In meanwhile, we hope you all will enjoy this special spot in our history."

'Mandragore' can be streamed below.
