The statement they released said this will be their last album based on a color.
Saw them perform this new track Sunday night in Dallas. They put on such a good show and I’m beyond hyped for new music now.

@Josh D, yeah dude like calmrose said John Baizley, the front man, does all of the art which is just insane because not only does Baroness rule, but he's also one of the most insanely talented artists of modern times. He does commission work (see Pig Destroyer, Darkest Hour, Kvelertak, etc.) but he might charge you more than a couple hundos.

In all seriousness I'm hyped as shit for this, and it'll be weird when they stop assigning colours to their records.

Really hoping this is better than Purple, which I thought was a bit of a snoozer outside a few tracks. They always put on a hell of a show though. Cover art is maybe their best yet

I think they were originally planning to do something more well thought, but since the album cover leaked they just published everything there was to know.

Did these guys soften quite a bit though? I'm not very familiar with the early stuff but I do remember early Mastodon comparisons...

They started out a little tougher and sludgier but they've been more rock than metal since their first album IMO.

The first EPs and the split were sludge, Red was pretty sludge-influenced, but they got further away from metal as time went by.
