2014-06-19 by NordicMindset | 32 Comments
British indie rock band alt-J have released 'Hunger of the Pine', the lead single off of
their upcoming sophomore album, This is All Yours, out September 22.

The track samples Miley Cyrus' track '4x4' off of her 2013 album Bangerz.

lol the guy in the band might as well have just said "i'm a female rebel" and it would have been pretty much the same

I like it, but I don't think the Miley Cyrus sample makes the song any better. Also, does that horn at the end of the track
sound like the horns in "Blood on the Leaves"?

This is pretty decent. The Radiohead influence is even more apparent here too.

oooooh, this is good

typical that they would turn to electronics but they use it well, so I'm happy

Not bad, hoping this isn't representative of the whole album.

Pretty weak, Miley sample doesn't work and comes out of no where. Still a shame though, I really liked an awesome wave. Hopefully the rest of the album is better.

Ok, i'm kinda disappointed. It's nice that they changed their style a bit and the atmosphere is pretty interesting but it's not very captivating.

Also wtf is with that miley cyrus sample? It's so abrupt and out of place when I first heard it and it's laughably cringeworthy

Loved An Awesome Wave and I wasn't expecting part 2 or anything but I'm really hoping that this is one of the more weaker tracks on the new LP

"Dissolve Me" and "Breezeblocks" are pretty damn good tracks, I'll probably buy this debut later this weekend.

"Hunger of the Pine" is okay, not the best but the sample is used pretty fine.

I thought the sample was used quite poorly as it's kinda abrupt and doesn't really blend in with whatever else is going on. But yeah, Breezeblocks is definitely a highlight on their debut

Please don't go; I'll eat you whole. I love you so, I love you so I love you so
