Listened to Our Endless War, sounds very metalcore.

Self-titled was heaps better. This just sounds awkward.
Even Phil sounds odd. His vocals are layered to shit for some reason.
It's a shame, their new drummer is so good.

Phils vocals are always layered, unnecessarily because he's got the best vocals within the genre. Very mediocre album by Whitechapel standards.

this is probably their worst album

It's not bad, but what really gets on my nerves is the fact that the band is unwilling to fully utilize Phil's vocal prowess. Have you seen the guy live? It's just like what Scar Symmetry did to Christian Alvestam: They took a guy who already had chops as a vocalist, but overlayered the vocals to the point where it felt unauthentic. They should just leave Phil to do what he does best.

yeah dunno why they layer phil so much. if you watch the live performance he did with suicide silence for the mitch lucker memorial he's a fucking beast. way better than on recording.

idk I was super leary before listening to this and while the lyrics aren't very good the delivery and the songwriting Is relatively solid. I can dig it. at least more than I thought I would

Lol, you are all so so so wrong. This album is fucking awesome, you all just need to stop being so against the "popular" deathcore bands. Yeah sure, bands like Emmure really do suck (i still have a guilty pleasure for some of there songs though", but Whitechapel is amazing.

Wouldn't say "amazing" but they are one of the better bands playing that sound for sure.
You sound really young when you call bands Aamazing and call everyone wrong for having a different opinion.
The more "Amazing" a band is called the less amazing they tend to be. Take it from someone who has done the same thing.

I don't really listen to Whitechapel, but they honestly don't deserve the hate they get.

This album's a grower. It's really all over the place.

However, Diggs Road is one of the best songs they've written. Worship The Digital Age is the worst.

So weak.

The only good part of this album are some of the solos, and that's because they had guitar god Ben Eller (a good friend of mine) come in a do it for them. 3 guitarists and no one can pump out a quality solo.. Sad day. Hate whitechapel.

That 2nd song just sounds like a mess. Bad production?

The songwriting is tighter but the content is all over the place. Phill has way too many layers on his voice and the songs kind of all have that mid-tempo chug going on. Blacked Out is sick though.
