wowwwww that production is one of the worst things i've ever heard, i had a headache before it even hit the minute mark
|
| |
They've had pretty bad production since Across the Dark, which is a shame cuz that album's really beautiful
|
| |
Production didn't bother me at all. Song was great to me, it sounded like Insomnium, but not exactly like insomnium. My problem with them is that, like most melodic death metal bands, is that all their songs just blended together. Other than a few stellar tacks of course. This didn't sound like one of those songs, it was different and I loved it.

^This pretty much.
|
| |
not sure how I feel about this one
|
| |
Awesome.
|
| |
wow that riff. beautiful song. production could be improved.
|
| |
It's pretty simple and catchy, I liked it.
I've always liked their production since it doesn't sound too overproduced.
|
| |
but it does sound compressed and brickwalled to death
|
| |
How can you tell that it's compressed? I have no experience with anything like this.
|
| |
Their production has been pretty samey since ATWW.

Waiting for a Crysis comment

This strikes me as being along the lines of "Through the Shadows" or "Weather the Storm". I don't necessarily think this is the direction all of the new album will take
|

it does sound compressed and brickwalled to death (2)
cool song with a great chorus, just your standard melodeth song really.
|
| |

the drums are completely lifeless and you can hear the compressor fucking with the high end
i know i talk about this all the time but i'm sick of all modern metal being completely ruined by it
|
| |
this is good
|
| |
this is actually quite nice.
|
| |
Song was one of the worst they've ever made. No good riffs, boring structure, absolutely nothing worth mention. Thankfully the three instrumentals on the EP are good.
|
| |
I honestly can't believe it's the same band. Granted, we've all wanted them to change their sound in some capacity...but this is just a watering down of their sound.
|
| |
"we've all wanted them to change their sound in some capacity"
I thought they were fine where they were before One for Sorrow. They are changing all that towards an even more generic sound.

Finnish melodic death metal band Insomnium have released a new really-fucking-boring song, entitled 'Ephemeral' off of their upcoming who-gives-a-shit EP, which is set for release in 2014 which will go down as one of the most zzzzzzzzzzzzz bands in the history of metal.
i know i talk about this all the time but i'm sick of all modern metal being completely ruined by it
Don't you mean you're the only one that bitches about this being a problem? ; )
|

I'm in the minority here but I really liked One For Sorrow. And aside from terrible production this is a good song. The riffs are great.

well someone has to, right? :]

Yeah. Live recordings or die m/
|

This is not a watered down version of their sound; to me, it's their sound shining through truer than ever - a completion of their sound. I agree that they should change
things up in the future. Production has some issues (most noticeably with the drums).
