Excellent song, great solo too. wish there were harsh vocals though
| |
so awesome
you can tell this is a thordendal brainchild
| |
You can totally tell this is Nothing-era. Didn't blow my mind, but still a solid track.
| |
you can tell this is a thordendal brainchild [2]
| |
Yeah this is def. Thordendal.
| |
I'm bummed there wasn't more than one new track, but the live recording is amazing qualitywise so it's hard to be disappointed. Song is solid as hell.
| |
Sounds like an updated Sol Niger song!!
| |
boring
| |
Song rules hard, bitches, gave them at least a 4,5 or die.
| |
That was painfully boring. Literally nothing happened for 5 minutes. Just chug chug chug, spoken words, chug chug chug.
| |
Eh it was ok
| |
Absurdly boring song. Lots of chugging, speaking, and the same shitty 'bass line?' for the entire song.
| |
I loved it
| |
This is what I'd listen to if I was trudging along down a road on a rainy day, and happened across a dirty necromancer, glaring at a petrified squirrel.
| |
So this song was written in 2003. Explains the Nothing vibe.
| |
explains the awesome vibe
| |
dug the saxophone
| |
or the riff that sounded like a saxophone
| |
That was insanely awesome.
| |
Metal legends Meshuggah. Love it :p
| |
should be meshuggah posts old song
| |
Took them ten years to release this?
| |
is that a problem?
| |
Siqqqqqqq.
| |
It's not a problem, it's just a weird notion. They had this sitting around for ten years before they got any use out of it. I can't imagine writing a piece of music and then sitting on it for a decade. It'd probably drive me nuts.
| |
The vocals suck
| |
good song 4sure
| |
Nobody's mentioned the fact that there's a live version of Dancers To A Discordant System accompanying this release, which has got to be the most insane track they've ever written.
| |
yea dancers is top 5 meshug easily
| |
Was recorded in 2003, says the video.
Well at least I wont have to hear it again.
| |
Great song
| |
I like it....
| |
Nothing era Meshuggah is the best Meshuggah. Song rules.
| |
I was convinced that was a sax for the first few seconds
| |
i knew the weren't going to write anything new for this
| |
It is his midi breath control that gives it the holdsworth synth-axe vibe
| |
shits aight
| |
ending is solid but pretty zzzz overall
| |
Another amazing Meshuggah song! Considering it was written about a decade ago, with the new modern production, this song still sounds fresh. Structurally, this song emphasizes more the progressive nature that Meshuggah has previously explored within their music. Although I was hoping for a new EP, maybe along the lines of "I", this new song will still due.
Dancers sounds amazing live as well. I remember them saying in some interview that they couldn't play this song live. My only gripe is they didn't play the clean lead guitar part just before and after the solo. That guitar part layers a 5/4 melody over the 4/4 drum beat and crazy poly-metric rhythm guitar parts. Its one of the few sections that layers 3 separate rhythmic meters over one another. As my favorite moment in any Meshuggah song, I was really hoping that Thordendal would have played this part, but opted to just double the rhythm part instead.
| |
Fuck yes! Great tune, really loving the open sound on Haakes kit, along with the sweet FBM-style middle part. Fantastic
| |
its good
| |
yea dancers is top 5 meshug easily [2]
dancers to a discordant system is godly when you're super baked
| |
dug the saxophone [2]
| |
I can see why people dont like this, but its pretty sick.
| |
Not bad. Was hoping for more from this EP though. Scion still rules!
| |
Interesting song, as usual.
| |
no one mentions that the part after the solo is future breed machine under new light.
| |
wow that solo sounds a lot like the Closed Eye Visuals solo
| |
i dont understand the idea that repeated the same chug for 2:10 is interesting to some people. fuck that was overdrawn. it gets better with that weird solo but fuck what is it with meshuggah in killing their songs with repetetiveness
| |
hey that was pretty cool and I'm neutral towards most meshuggah
| |
Good jam.
| |
I could jam that groove all day m/
| |
Eh it's pretty good, but nothing spectacular. I would've loved more than one track too.
| |
Like all their work, it'll grow
| |
I just listened to this EP, then I, then Pitch Black again, and on second listen I did enjoy it more. I think it would work better if it was included on Nothing, just listening to one track doesn't feel right.
When I listen to Meshuggah I need to listen for more than 5 minutes.
| |
Yeah I get that, I have to listen to an album most of the time
| |
Song was boring as hell. I can't believe the lot of you aren't disappointed in Scion for this wasted effort. They're been all gold until now.
| |
You aren't a Shuggah fan anyway, Wiz?
| |
I love I to death and Obzen, Catch 33 and Nothing are all amazing as well. I just can't stand it when hype is brought upon a release that feels like we're fed scraps. It was free and that's cool, but Scion has done much better with most of their other releases.
| |
New old Shuggah still isn't a bad thing really. They are never going to change their style and they shouldn't, consistency is their best asset.
| |
boring...just like all meshuggah
| |
future breed machine so boring agreed
| |
*this song so boring agreed
honestly tho why do people like this. i dont get it from an objective standpoint why this song is receiving the praise it is
| |
i think its ok, typical meshuggah song nothing special at all but it groovez so ppl groove to it u dig
| |
more boring than I's 1 and a half minute chugga chugga choo choo intro and the subsequent supersize McChug meal with a large Djunz with extra stagnation
| |
http://i.imgur.com/ZQx0tmO.jpg
also when did scion become a record label
| |
no i get that it grooves, but fuck after 2 mins of the same djents riff im snoozn hard
| |
well thats u and ppl that like it dont snooze get it tehe
| |
The groove drags you through the song, in a good way
| |
meh to each their own
just dont get how elites usually site chugging as the main reason for why dxc suck (which i agree with) yet praise songs like this and break those bones
oh well its.....
ONE OF NATURE'S MYSTERIES D:
| |
1 day u wil no
| |
All about the atmosphere
| |
maybe KILL
just maybe i become elite
maybe if i DL Rush's discog
| |
best idea youve ever had!
| |
Make sure you 4 or above Grace Under Pressure, KILL would appreciate that
| |
KILL are you mad that jane doe now has a higher average rating than hemisoheres and 2112
or is that all youd expect from a community as queef as sput
| |
its been 4.4 for years, sometimes goes to 4.3 but then some more fagcore kids joins and boom its back
| |
Sounds like a "I am colossus remix"
| |
Interesting.
| |
Haven't listened to this yet, but I expect great things. Nothing is their best album, in my opinion.
| |
Song was dope.
| |
People calling Meshuggah boring obviously don't understand poly-rhythms
| |
sucks ass
| |
thought it was pretty dec. i'm not that big on Meshuggah but it was good
| |
Reality.
| |
isnt this that band that everyone says every other band is copying?
cool.
| |
People calling Meshuggah boring obviously don't understand poly-rhythms
I learned all of chaosphere on guitar. I understand poly-rhythms. This is boring.
| |
Song was dope. [2]
| |
I fucking hate this band
| |
Meshuggah are visionaries.
| |
"just dont get how elites usually site chugging as the main reason for why dxc suck (which i agree with) yet praise songs like this and break those bones"
All the truth
| |
No its not haha
| |
This has nothing to do with Deathcore.
| |
meh
