Fall Out Boy Reunion Confirmed

2013-02-04 by tmagistrelli | 59 Comments
After many months of speculation, rumors, and leaks, Fall Out Boy finally announced they were coming off indefinite hiatus.

The band also confirmed the release of their 6th LP Save Rock & Roll to be released May 7th in the United States via Island Def Jam Records. Produced by Butch Walker who produced Infinity On High in 2007. This is the first new material since 5th Release Folie A Deux in December 2008.

To promote the new album, the lead single "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)" was released today on iTunes.

In addition the group is also touring throughout North America in the Spring. Tickets will go on sale February 8th or 9th dependent on the day. Dates can be found on falloutboyrock.com.

I used to like these guys, still kinda do. I really don't care if they reunite, though. Cool, but I won't be picking up their new album or anything.

FOB wasn't bad when I saw them live with Blink, even if Pete just hardcore screamed some vocal parts to be hxc, but that new song... What drove them to release that piece of shit?

They actually are coming nearby on their tour, but it's during Rock on the Range and I already have a ticket to that.

I like Fall Out Boy, this makes me happy. Didn't like newest song but I have hope they can recreate Infinity on High magic with this new release.

new song isn't great but hopefully they'll use it as some kind of intro song to the album. Looking forward to it regardless.

Demo is a million times better, new single hints that they're becoming like Maroon 5, less of a 5 piece band and more or less a singer with over-production.

I mentioned that I didn't enjoy the song/it was FoB in name and lyrics only on the reddit thread for the single.

Bad idea.

Song isn't awful but if you aren't already stoked on this reunion, it won't change your mind.

Album will probably be on par with Folie if not worse.

I like their older material, but that new song was awful. I'm hoping the fact that it says 2chainz edition means it's a remix or something.

I don't understand why people aren't digging this stuff, song is one of the coolest things they've released I feel. But I also think Folie is their best album by miles, despite having been a fan since they dropped TTTYG, so I guess I'm in the minority. Super hyped for this either way though.
