this absolutely rules
sounds nothing like them
| |
Sounds like Post-Rock, kinda. (to me at least)
| |
sounds nothing like them
sounding nothing like title fight is an admirable quality for a band to have so maybe i'll check this out
| |
do it. it sounds heavily 90s influenced
| |
This does sound somewhat like Post-Rock. Sounds nothing like them at all.
"sounding nothing like title fight is an admirable quality for a band to have so maybe i'll check this out"
Harsh. I'm not a huge fan of the band anyways. In this case, it's good.
| |
Not the Title Fight I'm used too, but it's still good
| |
yeah i don't really mind them tbh. just being a dick.
| |
They played this at warped tour. Didn't see this shift coming
| |
completely brutal, i had no idea they could shred like this
album is going to rule.
| |
Awwwwww Yeaaaaahhhhhhh!
| |
Sounds more like shoegaze than post-rock to me.
| |
I enjoyed old Title Fight, but this new song is just crazy good. New album should be rad.
| |
great song, i'm glad they decided to get off of their comfort zone, i hated their last album for being a half assed effort towards a softer sound. they should either make more songs like this one or go back to kicking ass with their older sound (The Last Thing You Forget)
| |
wow that song was amazing
| |
Never really listened to Title Fight before so I can't really comment on the change in direction, but this sounds pretty neat.
| |
This is sweet stuff, I dunno anything about shoegaze though.
| |
Look in to it.
| |
Wow this rules
| |
Definitely shoegaze-y.
| |
stoked.
| |
This is great. Loved the old stuff, but this is next level for them.
Stoked for this and stoked for Warped too.
| |
song is alright but the video is quite possibly among the worst i've ever seen.
| |
sorry my avatar isn't advertising a band made for preteen girls :/
| |
I kinda thought Auber was better than resorting to the whole age insult.
| |
0/10 ^
they have this up for free download on their site hell yeah
| |
Not been long at all since their last album.
| |
"this absolutely rules
sounds nothing like them"
Was sold when I read this. Not a fan of their older stuff. Was pleased with this though
| |
I'd really like to know if there is a pop punk band out there that you don't like. It seems like all of them are gold for you
| |
Not saying this is pop punk, I just saw your avatar and it sparked thought.
| |
autumn jams
| |
Name a few. Cause if you hate them, I know I will.
| |
please tell me you hate this band: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHD6AX6RuO8
| |
That sounds right up his alley to my ears
| |
"I'd really like to know if there is a pop punk band out there that you don't like. It seems like all of them are gold for you"
Yellowcard.
| |
^ Oh fuck no. That's absurd. I can see how they might not "do it for you" but to straight up not like them is bananas.
| |
Act As One sounds like ADTR with a terrible vocalist and slowed down. way down
| |
Pop/punk with breakdowns was immediately uncool after ADTR. And I like ADTR, but it bandwagoned so hard it's awful now.
| |
Just heard that Act As One song it is absolutely terrible. I can't stand breakdown pop punk except for maybe ADTR.
"^ Oh fuck no. That's absurd. I can see how they might not "do it for you" but to straight up not like them is bananas."
Yeah, I don't get Andcas on that one. It seems like more of a personal vendetta because Yellowcard is wayyyy better than the likes of Major League or new Man Overboard. But in that regard, Yellowcard is to him as Blink-182 is to me so we're good.
| |
^ You don't like Blink either? geez. Honestly I somewhat have weird taste because I am a drummer. So if the drummer is awesome I can look past shitty other stuff to a degree. Depends on the band though. Like I honestly think Texas in July is complete shit but I have their ratings slightly admirable because Adam Gray is insane
| |
I absolutely hate Blink-182. Except Dude Ranch.
| |
"I grew up with blink so I have a lot of memories tied with the music.
seeing them live front row for the first time at their reunion tour was
a dream come true"
Exactly the same for me haha. I went as well and was like one the second row. Amazing
| |
Andcas, if you had to pick a favorite pop/punk band, who would it be?
| |
Yeah, because they are better. The only one I can think of is ATL, and even then, I don't really see the Blink influence. I don't particularly like Man Overboard either so...unless you're talking about Future Idiots because they definitely seem to rip Blink.
| |
I don't like Man Overboard either Chipmunk. Honestly I dislike most pop/punk these days. I really really wish Fireworks would expand upon the "Arrows" song. Because then they would be my favorite
| |
Really?! Hahaha, did not see that one coming. Unless you're talking about Your Favorite Weapon-era Brand New, but no pop punk band tries to sound like that when they want to be Brand New.
| |
"I don't like Man Overboard either Chipmunk. Honestly I dislike most pop/punk these days."
I like plenty of pop punk still, it's just that I enjoy the genre much less overall than I used to. I've grown a level of tolerance to it and now I enjoy other genres much more easily. This whole 90s influenced, old-fashioned, shoddy production "Indie Punk" movement is not working so well for me.
| |
It really has to be different and super catchy to grab me
| |
That's because NFG do it right.
| |
"all time low has never sounded like blink-182 but they're clearly fans. "when they started out" obviously means yfw lol."
Yeah people used to tell me all the time that old ATL sounded like Blink and I was like "no they don't!". When you said "when they started out" I thought you were referring to MO and not to Brand New as in, when MO first formed, they wanted to be like Brand New.
| |
It pisses me off most of the featured reviews for NFG are negative. Andcas, me and my best friend from high school go to the beach nearly every year around the same time and when we go we put on NFG's discography and just go. It rules.
| |
I went and saw the Paramore/NFG/Tegan and Sara/Kadawatha tour and NFG played "Kiss Me" and Hayley didn't come out and smooch Chad. So lame.
| |
pop punk does have a tendency to run together, but i'm such a sucker for the super energetic side of it.
i wonder if TF is completely moving away from their fast paced sound with this new record. i kind of hope they steer more in this direction tbh because this song slays
| |
Haha, I know. They seem to be a lot better at it than I thought they would be.
I liked Shed more than I liked TLTYG, and this seems like a bigger step in that direction so I'm quite pleased
| |
It wasn't the maturity that killed FYS. It was the loss of "fun" imo
| |
Yeah, I loved Foo Year Strong but most of the record just bored the hell out of me.
| |
It wasn't fun. It wasn't bad but it just seriously wasn't fun. I guess you could argue "uninspired"
| |
Four Year Strong didn't really keep any of the sound that people loved from them. Their newest album was like music I'd listen to while trying to fall asleep.
| |
I hope this album has some diversity, the new song they played at Warped was like the exact opposite of this song
| |
If you like FYS new album better than EOTW then EOTW didn't connect with you. Cause that album is easily my favorite.
| |
EOTW was abused by me for a solid 8 months when it came out. I still spin "One Step At A Time" every now and then, but their new album completely killed my buzz for them.
| |
OMG. One Step is easily my favorite track. They played it when I saw them but did it acoustic. I was bummed.
| |
There are little to no breakdowns on EOTW. Their previous album did but I love it because it's so fun. I think the keyboardist removal was good for them because he didn't do like anything when I saw them. I don't like them for their skramz.
| |
diggin your avatar andcas
| |
I didn't say their new album was bad, I said it doesnt touch previous efforts. Just my opinion. I'm glad you like it though. Hopefully they will keep some fans
| |
I don't think ADTR gives a shit about anything with all of the money they're making right now
| |
I thought they already were off Victory they were just dealing with the lawsuit? And what feud did I apparently miss?
| |
They had like a 15k budget just to book them when they played here with TF and Rise Against.
| |
I can hear diss songs plz?
| |
this song gets better with every play
| |
this is so beautiful
i'll support anything this band releases
| |
Sounds like Title Fight started listening to My Bloody Valentine.
| |
Had no idea those two songs were stabs at the other band.
| |
Absolutely
| |
you are saying the whole pop-punk/breakdown style(easycore) was saturated but so is the current shit today. way too many bands playing the whole melodic shit that was started in the 90s by the movielife, jawbreaker, the get up kids. i wish there was still some good easycore bands out there because to me gang chants and breakdowns = SUPER FUN. also think this title fight song sucks, like i said just rehashing the same shit that was done in the 90s.
| |
Stay true bro
| |
"yup. in my opinion a day to remember destroyed them lyrics wise"
That's an odd surprise, FYS lyrics are usually > than ATDR. Good for ADTR.
Popcore breakdowns are still the lamest thing ever. They are so boring and annoying.
| |
I had no idea 2nd sucks was about FYS. What sparked that feud?
| |
fuck i love this band
| |
staytrue what you said about the pop punk being saturated with 90s emo throwback bands is very true. but i think title fight are a cut above and definitely pioneered the sound
| |
Listened cause everyone said that it sounds nothing like Title Fight and I still don't like it : (
| |
"A Day To Remember and Four Year Strong were both supporting
acts for New Found Glory. During the tour A Day To Remember got
more publicity than Four Your Strong. A Day To Remember and the
tour organizers asked For Year Strong to change times so that they
could perform longer. Four Year Strong refused and started an angry
rivalry." I think adtr got their way on the matter and so fys dropped."
fys should have just changed times
| |
whoa that was cool, album is going to be great.
| |
Great song. Interesting direction they're progressing. And about all this easycore bullshit. Who really wants more of that? Chugs got boring very fast. Copy cat pop-punk and metalcore need to die out so we can have more music like this. Video is cool too.
| |
Where are all these 90s emo throwback bands you are all claiming to exist. I know of about 4.
| |
This is really great. Maybe this will push me over the edge into actually getting their new album.
| |
What's more original isn't always better, originality isn't the only way to judge the quality of music.
| |
this is pretty rad.
| |
i dont know, but i really enjoy everything title fight has done, including this song
| |
title fight had the perfect sound on TLTYF, so catchy and fun to sing along. this new song is just really bland and boring to me thats the problem with a lot of the ''90s emo throwbacks'' pop-punk bands their just boring and not fun fun fun like pop-punk should be.

it's not their first album so I don't like it :'(
fixd
| |
New Propagandhi, Mountain Goats, and Title Fight records in September means it's gonna be a good
month.
EDIT: New tMG is on October 2nd but that's close enough.
| |
it is so easy to determine the age of people by their comments on here.
as a 24 year old, i am thinking most people around my age will like this song, most < 18 year olds will not.
and the immaturity of the easycore/popcore scene is so ridiculously prominent
| |
Some friends of mine said Title Fight played another new song at warped tour and it sounds nothing
like this. So, this could be just one of those songs that would add to the albums value and give it
more variety. an interlude, if you will.
| |
they did play another new song at warped on thursday but it just sounded like a better shed song
| |

I'm not 18 yet and I like this song. Also, I hate easycore to death.
| |
needs moar breakdowns.
| |
Breakdowns in pop punk has thankfully died. It's like the unwanted baby that wasn't aborted correctly.
| |
four year strong hahahaha. i used to like that band alot.
| |
I loved shed.
| |
shed was perfect.
| |
floral green leaked haha. idk how i feel about it though.
| |
Oh yeah it rules
| |
it's fucking awesome, but didn't seriously kick in for me until my second and third listens. i've played it like 11 times today and I like it more each time
| |
So stoked to see them with Pianos and single mothers. Gonna be an awesome show.
| |
