Asia was formed in the early 80's by (former) members of King Crimson, Yes and Emerson, Lake and Palmer. They've since gone through many personell changes and have contained members from other bands such as Uriah Heep, Roxy Music and Wishbone Ash. Asia's current line-up is the one that originally formed the band, and consists of John Wetton (vocals/bass), Steve Howe (guitar), Carl Palmer (drums) and Geoffrey Downes (keyboards).

Why are they considered a progressive rock supergroup? The individual band members participate(d) in prog rock bands, yes, but the music this band creates is anything but.

Yup, and it wasn't until recently that I found out that is John Wetton singing. He sounded much different in King Crimson.
