PhantomLimb: Hayley has said in interviews and on her blog that she doesn't think Decode is a good representitive of what to expect on the new album. They've only said it's supposedly darker and a bit more rock 'n roll than Riot. (which sounds like what Decode is, but whatever)

The band are talented, but too focused on writing catchy pop-punk anthems when they could try to do something innovative. Then again, if they wrote an introspective acoustic/electronic record with 9 minute songs and deeply profound lyrics, that would definitely alienate their fanbase.

Innovation is a overrated IMO; yes it is good when done well, but not needed for a worthy album.

Magnum13: how are Paramore overrated? they write catchy pop-rock, and they perform it very well. no one's calling them the next Blondie or anything like that. the only people that overrate them are the screaming teens at their concerts who think they're the best band ever conceived, and the idiots at mags like Alt. Decode was fantastic thanks largely to Hayley. Haven't really heard much of their other stuff.

well true, some of their songs are pretty boring. the band's still enjoyable overall however, so you have to give them some credit.

Hayley is obviously the band's biggest asset though: great voice, great lyrics, and...oh yeah...she's kinda hot.

btw John have you heard I Caught Myself? it's better than Decode, cuz Decode gets old after a while.

Take Hayley Williams away from Paramore and the band is faceless and nothing special (not that it IS with her in it anyway). Hopefully the damage she did to her voice last year is beyond repair, she is overrated as a vocalist and as a beauty icon.

I think this is one of the most honest sites when it comes to music. I've seen reviews from Blender and Rolling Stone where I was asking myself if the person was just doing it for laughs. Stating the album was bad, but not giving any reason why other than what they did in their personal life or how much they suck compared to a similar artist. Enough people on here know when someone is reviewing an album like a fan.

Christians, for the most part, tend to be the worst kind of people ever; judgmental, potentially abusive and extremely self-righteous. Of course, there's a fringe of completely moral and accepting Christians -- except these are the hard ones to find and are never on the forefront of anything hugely radical. Except for in pop-punk bands, apparently.
