OBSCURA, GRAVES OF VALOR, and ABYSMAL DAWN Join Forces For Relapse Records Contamination Tour

OBSCURA, GRAVES OF VALOR, and ABYSMAL DAWN will join forces for the 2009 installment of the Relapse Records Contamination Tour. The Decibel Magazine, Metal Injection, Metal Sucks and Sick Drummer sponsored tour will kick off on April 28th in Birmingham, AL and will also include special guests on select dates who will be announced soon. A listing of confirmed tour dates and cities can be found below with more details to be announced shortly.

OBSCURA’s recently released Relapse debut Cosmogenesis broke into Billboard’s ‘Heatseekers’ chart. Prior to the Contamination Tour, OBSCURA will support CANNIBAL CORPSE for an extensive North American tour. Cosmogenesis is currently streaming in its entirety here. MySpace.com/RealmOfObscura.

GRAVES OF VALOR have completed work on their Relapse debut full-length, Salarian Gate. Salarian Gate was recorded in January at Mana Recording Studios (HATE ETERNAL, SOILENT GREEN, THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD) in Tampa, FL with engineer Brian Elliott. Salarian Gate is scheduled for a May release date and preview tracks, along with additional tour dates, will be posted on the band’s MySpace page: MySpace.com/FromGravesOfValor shortly.

ABYSMAL DAWN released their Relapse debut, Programmed To Consume, last spring. The band has most recently announced dates with CARCASS and 1349 and has posted the video for the album’s title track. MySpace.com/AbysmalDawn.

The ‘Contamination Tour’ has been a label vehicle used to expose some of its newest and most exciting bands. Previous 'Contamination Tour’ alumni include MASTODON, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, NEUROSIS, NILE, HIGH ON FIRE, CEPHALIC CARNAGE, COALESCE, ORIGIN, MISERY INDEX, DYSRHYTHMIA, UNEARTHLY TRANCE, and many more.

I heard about you and Asheville not too long ago, that's a great place, i'm slightly familiar with there, Maggie Valley, and Waynesville, somaybe i'll just do what I did for the Panthers game and come to NC for a concert then dip afterwards.
