Only ones I've heard from there and some of them deserve to be there, some don't. Plus there are loads better albums which could have been put in the other spots. Mehhh.

Mostly good list, still don't understand why all these magazines love Metallica's new album though. I would have thought Shogun would be here due to the glowing review they gave it.

About have this list is great and the other half sucks. No In Mourning or Equilibrium makes me sad.

Average list is average. I'm expecting Metal Maniacs to put up a quality list. However, that Khold album is something I need to hear.

Finally a decent list. Watershed makes an appearance.

I was hoping to see Arghoslent, Burst, and Dismember on here but there's some on here I am happy to see.

The allmusic critic who reviewed Dragonforce gave it a 4.5/5. So, yeah, that's just one reason this whole magazine/guide/whatever is good about half the time.

Torche and Made Out of Babies are awful.

It's always nice to see Opeth, Meshuggah, Amon Amarth,
Genghis Tron, and of course, the ever popular Fortress make an appearance. Austrian Death Machine is a nice touch.

A lot of their metal releases are hawked out to freelancers who often don't have much knowledge of the genre.

i wish they included ihsahn's angL, i thought that album was great, although it was not recieved all that well...

and i so predicted this, it isnt the right metal for everyone here.

see why end of year lists fail, guys? i wish more magazines would do a "Top (insert pleasing number) (insert genre) albums of (insert year)" lists instead. because you can't compare lil wayne to cynic to tv on the radio. they have different fans and different aims with their music.

I cannot believe that only one person has commented on the hulking mass of toss that is Austrian Death Machine! Really doesn't belong in this list to be fair. Also nice to see people happy at the actual inclusion of Cynic in one of these endless lists!

With a couple of changes this could be one of the best lists.

Amon Amarth and Protest The Hero are the only two that should be on here.
