Travis Barker Critically Injured

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and a popular disc jockey were critically injured in a Learjet crash in South Carolina that killed four people, authorities said Saturday.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the plane carrying six people was departing shortly before midnight Friday when air traffic controllers reporting seeing sparks. The plane went off a runway and crashed on a nearby road, she said.
Hospital spokeswoman Beth Frits said Barker and DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, were in critical condition at a burn center in Augusta, Ga., about 75 miles southwest of Columbia.

People, you must live, not die. Though, Barker and this Dj is hella lucky guys. RIP for the rest of the crew.

If he dies, just think how much labels will make, and stupid K-Mart companies buying his name...it's going to be another Kurt Cobain.

Have to hope he gets better because, well that would be evil if I didn't.

This sucks, but he was lucky to be one of the survivors.
Sadly the others weren't so fortunate.
Godspeed.

"Crash sucks, drummer sucks."

He isn't a bad drummer by any means in all fairness (I hate Blink182 and +44)

Also yea it is pretty lame how they didn't even bother to name the dead, I mean atleast Travis and the DJ's fates aren't yet sealed.

As far as not naming the dead, they did so at this link: http://www.abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/story?id=5846157&page=1

I also heard that Barker passed away this morning in the hospital, does anyone know about that?

wtf do you mean travis sucks at drumming. Do you even know anything about drums? Dont talk about something you dont understand. He's only considered one of the best drummers alive. Not to mention hes the renowned number 1 punk drummer like every year. This would be a very important loss if that were to happen. Pay some respect dude.

I love how people in this thread are focusing on how good of a drummer he is, like it's the most important thing at stake.

Heard about this on the radio, at first I thought that they died and I almost stopped the car in the middle of the road. Wish a speedy recovery for the guys and sincere condolences to the dead's families.

im just saying it would be a tragic loss to lose someone who dedicated their entire life to the one thing they love, and became a huge success in the process...and its quite rude to not respect that by saying "crash sucks. drummer sucks".

This is pretty tragic, but he's a musician and thats all he's known for...so deal with the fact that people are gonna talk about his musicianship here. You can argue that he's "considered one of the best drummers alive" (he's not) or that he's absolute rubbish...it's music, it's a matter of preference, and no battle will be won here.

Rest in Peace to those lost in this, I'm no fan of an over-hyped Barker, but it'd be a pretty big shot to music in general if he and DJ AM were lost in this, like mentioned before, the last little while has been terrible for the loss of musicians.

The crash does suck, its tragic and I feel sorry for them. But in my mind, he really isn't a very good drummer (technique, beats, etc.)

This sucks, I've always been a fan of blink-182 (catchy, part of my childhood), and it's sad. Hopefully he has a quick recovery (along with DJ AM), and RIP to the other four...

This site is a fucking joke.

Instead of worrying about the guy living, people complain over his drumming.

Get your fucking priorities right.

As I stated above I fully wish him a speedy and complete recovery but will this mean that Blink will be more likely to reform if Travis does recover to playing condition.

Seems like something messiah-esque that Delonge would endorse.

I don't agree with it, but it's a thought that's running through my head and I had to vocalise it.

Maybe this will inspire Tom Delong to go visit him in the hospitol...and maybe when he goes Mark will already be there and it will get them all in the same room for the first time in years and they will want to make music again.
