Rolling Stones Leave EMI

2008-07-25 by FlawedPerfection EMERITUS | 5 Comments
The Rolling Stones have ended a long history with EMI Records, leaving for another major label, Universal Music
Group. The deal also includes the rights to selling the band's back catalogue from 1971's Sticky Fingers
onwards, a smart move by Universal, because who wants another Stones album? Remember A Bigger Bang
ABKCO and Decca Records own the rights to distribute their 1963-1970 material. UMG plans to digitalize all of their
material so that they can sell both digitally and physically on their Polydor Label worldwide.

I want another Stones album, last one was really good, had some songs on their that if you stuck on their 70's albums would now be staples in their live setlist.

"EMI, EMI, EMI...GOODBYE"

Seriously though, they're kind of fucked, what with all the layoffs and defecting bands.
