Arctic Monkeys to go psych?

2008-07-16 by Iai EMERITUS | 9 Comments
In an interview with British tabloid The Daily Star this morning, producer James Ford confirmed that the Monkeys had indeed begun working on their third album, and opened up about what it may sound like.

"It's too early to say what sort of direction they'll go in next, but they've got at least one tune up their sleeves that sounds massive already It's much more psychedelic than Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not. I wouldn't rule out a bit of R'n'B either – the boys know their stuff."

No release date has been announced.

...yyyeah, I don't know so much. Sounds like one of those occasions when a band says "the new album will sounds like this" in the hopes of attracting interest, but it ends up being the same thing.

The Arctic Monkeys, not saying they CAN'T produce anything outside the box, will probably end up making an Arctic Moneys album - but I could be wrong.

they way they say it will be "more psychedelic than Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not" somewhat signifies that they think that Favourite Worst Nightmare was a little psychedelic. I don't know, I'll am still probably one of the last people that is mega-excited to hear this.

Favourite Worst Nightmare was a lot more rhythmic interns of musicianship than their debut.

They are R n B fans so I wouldnt rule out them taking and old style RnB approach to their new music.

I really like arctic monkeys it would be cool if they did a total psych CD. I haven't been disappointed this far. Hope the new is just as good, whatever direction they decide to choose.

I have hope. Favourite Worst Nightmare was kind of good; I hope they go back to the less produced, more raw sound of their first lp and get back their old bassist. bring the the psychedelic too.

These fools must be getting into harder drugs

1st album was just booze and cigs
2nd album was a little bit of mushrooms and weed
3rd is fully acid?
